Whoohoo stalking! And oops...

Whoohoo stalking! And oops...

Well, if I didn't know about my shower and just regularly stalked, I would definitely know it was coming up soon based on this weekend! Soooo much was bought! We got our blender, 4 settings of our everyday dishes out of 10, all of our silverware, our non-stick pans, and a bunch of wishing well gadgets, can opener, stainless steel turner, wooden spools, powdered sugar sifter, and potato masher.

BUT....and it's our own stupid fault for leaving it on, but we really didn't think it would happen. Someone bought us a single setting of our Bellina fine china! Now, we really can't be angry or mad...someone bought us a very expensive, very nice gift. And we understand that it's a lot of money, and that one setting was probably all they could afford. But we just don't understand WHY someone would spend that much money on a single setting, when they could have purchased other things that were a little more practical?

I said that we should exchange it towards completing our everyday sets, but FH said if it's someone in his immediate family then we can't return it because they'll be looking for it at our place. But I was like what, are we going to set the table and then put the setting out at the seat of the person that bought it for us and say you can eat off it, because we couldn't afford to buy the rest for everyone else to eat off it too? Such a waste. I wish I was having a larger shower, or had more things going in to this so it wouldn't be such a 'blow', because I do like the dishes a lot, but what are we going to do with just one set?

also about the china - ther person won't be looking for it esp if all of it isn't bought you will have to return it so don't worry about it

The Bellina pattern, I'm pretty sure, will be around a very long time. If you really love it, maybe you could keep the place setting and complete the set slowly over the next couple of years. Lenox goes on sale very often at Macy's and you can use coupons on it. They usually have some great deals. For instance, right now you get 2 free soup bowls when you purchase $150 worth of your Lenox china. 2 soup bowls can cost up to $160 at regular price! Also, people might look at your registry for birthdays and holidays and continue to buy from your set. But if you decide that you don't want to keep it I don't think anyone would mind or notice if you returned it

As for the china I agree with you if you only get one place setting you can abosolutely return it.

maybe they bought the single setting and will be giving you a check along with it to get other settings...maybe they just bought the one because they didn't want to lug all of it to the shower....maybe??

Haha I wish but my invites went out before Memorial Day and the shower is in less than 2 weeks. And I really hope no one else buys the remaining china, as horrible as that sounds.

Hey, we'll be living on rice and beans, but at least we'll be eating it off bone china!
