Major big time germ-a-phobe.

Considering I'm a microbiologist (one who studies germs for a living), I am surprisingly normal about my tolerance for germs.

I am more of a people-who-take-drastic-measures-to-cut-down-on-germ-exposure-a-phobe.

Major big time germ-a-phobe.

I hear you.. I hate touching anything in the subway, bus, work, or doctor's office... I am not too keen on shaking hands.. though with friends and family I am different... dunno why.

Big time germ-a-phobe here.

I keep Windex at my desk at work and am constantly cleaning!!! (esp. the phone) I use papertowels on the bathroom doors since I will not touch them... try not to touch people I do not know if I can help it. HATE when people invade my personal space , overall

OK - I sound psycho here.

But otherwise I'm an extremely affectionate person! Really!!!

I'm sort of germ-phobic. I wash my hands A LOT. Also, if I'm on an airplane and I start thinking about germs, I freak out a little. All that recycled air...

I am so NOT a germ-a-phobe. The way I see it, I keep myself, my clothes and my home clean. If I think something is exeptionally gross or above normal, I'll clean it with bleach. Other than that, I don't stress it. There are good germs that help you. I have germ-a-phobe friends who are ALWAYS sick, where I'm very rarely sick. I'm one of the ONLY people I know who didn't get the flu or flu shot so far this winter so I figure I must be doing something right.

Amen!

Unoffically, I have a theory that kids carry super-germs...Spend one day around sick kids and you will get sick, I dont care how strong your immunity is. Whenever I or anyone who normally doesnt work in Peds gets placed there, we are sure to get sick! I am sure the teachers especially can vouch for this theory!

i am a germ-a-phobe.......i practically hold my breath the entire 20 min train ride to work every day and home again....i used to clean my phone with alcohol when i worked in an office where we shared a phone. I keep purel on my desk. I open the bathroom door handle when i am leaving the bathroom at work with a napkin...and i keep lysol wipes in my bathroom!! (have to have those when you live with a man! lol)

I guess i sound a little freaky. Its just that whenever i get sick - i get it BIG time. So I try to prevent it.

I say that all the time! Kids have the deadliest germs!

I will not sit on my bed after having sat my butt down in a public place. I have to change into something clean first. When we get a dog it is NOT allowed on my bed or in the kitchen! And I always have to wash my hands after touching animals.
Other people's hair getting on me grosses me out. I also get grossed out by the greasy head spot on the benches at the gym. I put my towel over it, then make sure I don't touch the part of the towel that was touching the greasy spot!
Does this make me a germ-a-phobe?

I clean my desk 2x a day once when I get into work once when I leave. My car is ok not the best. I hate the thought of a dirty desk, dirty dishes etc. I am always cleaning but I am no MONK

big time hand washer, although i do not use anything antibacterial b/c i heard it can create supergerms! do not like touching people's hair and do not like people touching my face, except fh. i will wear clothes the next day. if they are my germs, they are fine, but other people's germs are not okay. biggest peeve is when people do not wash their hands after using the bathroom. ewwwwww

I'm starting to become one. When you ride the subway everyday and work in a public high school, you get a little freaked out about germs. And I think it's gross when my students brush their hair in class and leave hair on the desks. I'm constantly washing my hands and using Purell.

I voted myself as a clean person but not crazy.

I think somebody else said this and its so true, all the super germphobe people I know are sick all the time, colds, viruses you name it. I might get one cold a year.
You definitely need the good germs to protect yourself from the bad ones and too much antibacterial gel use does create germs that are resistant to it, so to be using that stuff constantly doesn't make sense to me.

Actually the opposite has happened to me - I've been sick less often. You are right in that you need good germs to fight off the bad ones. I just use the anti-bacterial stuff at work because I get so grossed out, plus I can't tell you how many times my students come to school so sick but refuse to go home, or there is no one home to pick them up. But at home, we don't use the anti-baterial soap and stuff, much to my DH's dismay.
