Who's FICA and why did he take all my money?!

Got my first paycheck (insert 'Yay' here), but my net is less than HALF my gross! I guess it's because the firm deducted part of it for the loan they gave us over the summer, but still...Don't they know I have a LI wedding to pay for?!
