Is anyone having a joint bridal shower with guys and girls? And if so what is the best way to plan this, who should be involved in the coordination of both sides? I think I kinda want to have this so that all our friends and family could mingle - kinda like an engagement party - And Rehearsal dinners are usually just for family's and bridal party w/out of town guests, therefore I thought a girl/guy bridal shower may be fun.

ya know what.. I think it would be fun to do that.. but I dont' think my poor fiance could handle it.. it's a very girlie thing.. I'll let him out of this one

well FH is from upstate and we are having the shower there as well... so it would be hard to be a surprise... FMIL said she will have the shower during the day w/ just te girls... and then lateer that day all the guys will be invited...

we just had one in May! it was so great! i don't like showers in general so this was good for me. it was like a big party-everyone was invited kids, men... FH opened gifts with me and we had a lot of fun together doing that! he got tools, bbq stuff and Best Buy gift cards so that made him happy! i highly recommend it if you're not into the traditional girl thing.

We had separate parties in Atlantic City. But, we went during the same weekend, so all of us met up for lunch on Sunday morning. Then, we split back up with our friends again to finish off the day.
I think it worked out very well- we had the best of both worlds.

I just had one on Sat, and it was alot of fun, I am not into the whole shower thing so we did it this was and it was more of a backyard bbq with all our friends and family,

I'm having one!!! But there will be no sitting around watching us open gifts (so boring, IMO) And no ribbon hats. It's just a big party with food, drinks, and dancing... people still shower you with gifts, you just get to open them in the privacy of your own home so you don't have to make the fake 'I love it' face!!
FH is involved in the planning a little, so is my mom, MOH and I think some of the BMs. It's still supposed to be somewhat of a 'surprise' for me.

My Fi and I want to have a 'jack and jill' shower. When it comes to tradition ...I have broken all the rules since I was 5...why stop now.
