We're still debating what to do and with 20 days till the wedding we're stuck. We REALLY don't want to change the HM plans because we know anything else we pick won't measure up. Things seem to be getting better there and although we are both nervous about going we're still considering it. In the mean time we are discussing other options.
Any other Mexico honeymooners still going?? We're booked for the end of may-beg of June.

I was thinking the same thing. People are so scared to go to Mexico but people all over are getting this. Its not just in Mexico anymore. And I heard its getting better anyway! the whole thing has been blown out of proportion!

I was looking at other resorts and there was no other Excellece Playa Mujeres, room with a roof top terrace and private pool ... for the price we are paying! soooo if we switch we would need to either give up the amount of days we are going for or the quality of the room ...to afford the trip.
I keep looking at the pics of mexico and i dont want to give up my roof top terrace/private pool ... i think we are still going!
AND .... i totally agree with what you girls are saying. The flu is everywhere ... including a school 20 minutes away. if i get this stupid flu is not going to be from mexico but from the school i work at or the mall!

I am doing a cruise to mexico , and as of now until june 12th it isnt even going to mexico. As long as my cruise still goes there I am (end of august). Like I have said before I can't cancel queens (i teach there in a sp ed school), so I am not going to cancel Mexico!

We stayed at Excellence Resorts and I wouldn't change anything. This resort was like heaven and I want to go back there everyday. I torture myself on a daily basis by using the complimentary lotion. It smells soooooo good!

We are still going... Hey, with the flu on Long Island and in Queens, I have just as much catching it at home as I do there... I'm going to keep my plans and hope for the best

FH and I really don't want to change. Especially me. We have been looking and I keep comparing it to Excellence and there is nothing as nice as this place. Our second choice was St Lucia, and the places we wanted to go to are booked up, or we can get the basic room, but it's my honeymoon! I don't know what to do.

Honestly, talk to your Doctor and call the resort before making a decision. I think things have gotten better down there and if you are just cautious and wash your hands and carry hand sanitizer I think you should be ok. I am sure the resort that you are going to is well prepared and is doing everything they can to make sure the resort is steril.

We are still keeping our reservation for now. We aren't going until the end of September. Like the other girls said, you can't beatthe price and the type of rooms. We have booked a rooftop terrace..and I too have searched elsewhere (like sandals st. lucia) and we will never get the same type of accomodations.
I'm sure things will get better. You have chances of getting the flu no matter where you are..I'm just going to be extra cautious and wash my hands a lot and make sure no one is coughing around me.

I did call the resorts (we're staying at 2 while we are there) and both said everything is fine...but then again they're not going to tell us NOT to go. They both said that the hotels are under occupied at the moment so I'm guessing they've had MANY cancellations.
We only have 2 weeks to decide. But we're going to lose our airfare (we're flying mexicana airlines and it's not like we can use this to fly to aruba). Plus the other places we have looked into are really not even close to as nice. Even our TA said she couldn't find something like it. We also have a rooftop terrace...and we're staying at the Royal Hideaway for 1/2 of the time which is super super nice.
Ughh I'm so mad this is all happening right before the wedding I sooo do not need this stress right now!!
