Anyone use that patch pill? I am curious as to what you girls think of it...
Do you have to wear that patch all day long??

Re: Who's on the pill?
I had a friend who used the patch thing, she said by the end of the week, it looked like an old bandaid. But she said it was fine and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary.
I prefer the daily dose of hormones that I get in pill form!

Re: Who's on the pill?
I am on the pill. I know a few people who are/were on the patch. One friend LOVES it. One girl couldn't stand it. She said it got gummy like a bandaid does. She didn't feel secure with it

I'm a pill popper, the patch you waer 24/7 and change once a week and then take it off for your monthly 'friend' visit

Oh really? Oh, that seems annoying. Does it have less side effects than the pill form?

Re: Who's on the pill?
I used it for a month last year, but then switched back to the pill.
It did get all gummy like an old bandaid - I couldn't wait to change it at the end of the week! I felt like everytime I worked out and got sweaty that it would slide around.
Plus, the hormones that are in it made me sick- I puked the first few mornings I used it!

Re: Who's on the pill?
You keep the patch on for one whole week straight, like Sunday to Sunday, then change it and put a new one on. This is done for 3 weeks straight, then the 4th week is patch-free. You can put it on your butt, arm, back, or abdomen. You do get a little grime, but it comes off much easier than band-aid grime. I love it and it doesn't fall off unless you put lotions or oils on it.

hmm, even in the shower it doesn't come off? A band-aid comes off after a week of showering...

Re: Who's on the pill?
My gyno tried to push that patch thing on me (she's too funny, she was even wearing one to show how easy it is). I've been on every kind of pill there is and I have no problems remembering to take them etc so I saw no need to switch. I don't like the idea of having that band-aid thing on me 24/7 but that's just me

I'm glad someone asked the question, I was curious too....any of you patch users know if you can skip your friend like you can do with the pills?

Yes, you can skip. I did for my wedding.

Re: Who's on the pill?
Defintely asking the GYN about the patch when I go next week. I've been very bad about remembering to take the pill lately. Wanted to know if I could skip if I had to for the wedding.
Any other side effects I should know about? like weight gain

Re: Who's on the pill?
I am on the patch. You wear 1 for one week and change to the new one the 2nd week and so on until the fourth week when you don't wear one at all and that's when you get your period.
It's alright. I like it because I'd be too afraid I'd forget about the pill. It does get gummy and it sometimes slips off a bit, which is annoying.
To be honest I gained alot of weight right before I started using it - they say it's not as effective if you weigh over X amount and I'm over that amount But I started using it anyway to regulate my period and we use a backup so in terms of effectiveness, I can't really comment.
Oh I also take it because my gyn knows I have colon problems and said maybe a patch would be better than taking a pill that could aggravate my colon.
