who's paying

I was just wondering what you guys thought. Today I was out to lunch with a bunch of co-workers and one girl asked me who was paying for the wedding. I told her b/c I really didn't think twice about it. But now that I am thinking about, don't you think that is rude to ask?

Only because there was a table of like 10 people listening.

Just wanted to know what everyone thought.

I personally don't think it's rude but maybe that is because fh and I are paying for the majority of the wedding ourselves.

yea i think thats a rude thing to ask especially with 10 other people listening. its really nons of her business who's paying for your wedding - i don't see why she would even ask that question

I think its rude - it really shouldn't make a difference for ppl to know who's paying and who's not - and its not fair to you that she put u on the spot like that

i guess it depends whos asking, but no it shouldnt be anyone's business.
if you feel comfortable telling them thats fine. people have asked me and i tell them.

I thiink its a little tacky to ask- I had that happen to me this week- and when I told her she made a rude comment about how FH's parent's- 'weren't giving anything' which honestly doesnt bothe rme AT ALL- bc they are older and on a fixed income. And when I explained that to her she still made a rude comment- some people just dont get it!

It's no one's business who is paying!!
