hey I was wondering how many of us are paying for our own wedding, I know the tradition is for the brides father to pay but in this day and age i was wondering what the statistics are

We are paying for : photographer (my Mom would DIE if she know how much he cost) videographer gifts for bridal party favors invitations Honeymoon Groom's Tux My shoes
My parents are paying for: The ceremony & reception (including all food, open bar, cake, ceremony fee, etc) This is the bulk of the cost Postage on invites Save the Dates and postage
His 2 sets of parents/stepparents are paying for: RD DJ $$ towards open bar
An account my grandma started for me with $500 when I was born specifically for my wedding dress is paying for: My dress and veil Flowers

My mom is paying for my dress and FMIL is paying for the shower. We are paying for everything else ourselves.

Thanks! You are right about the dress being from my Grandma. It does make it extra special, plus it takes some $$ stress off everyone else. It is def something I will do when I have a daughter.

I'm lucky... my parents are paying for most of it
His parents will probably cover RD
And we are going to help out as much as we can.... I especially want to for my attire , gifts, and the HM

We are paying for the whole thing pretty much. My parents will buy my dress or put $$ toward it depending how pricey it is. They are also giving me money for my engagement to help out with the wedding. I am not sure how much but I think they are going to put down the 10% deposit so we can book.
So it should be ok. I hope :) 13 months to save up $20,000 yikes!

FMIL is helping w/ flowers, limos, and some $$ toward my dress (still in shock over this), and we're paying for the rest. i think my mom plans to handle my shower.

My FIL's the RD and gave us a little to put towards flowers.
My Nana gave me money towards my gown.
The rest we are paying for.

we paid for the reception, DJ, videographer, photographer, favors, and misc items (programs, guest book, etc).
His parents paid for the rehearsal dinner & honeymoon.
My parents paid for the dress, invitations, bridal shower, flowers & limo.
