lol it seems to me that everyone's biggest gripe is my selection of burnt orange as my main color. IT's a fall wedding! i love how it looks. its so nice! but I feel like i always have to explain myself. everytime someone asks me my colors and I say burnt orange and chocolate, i begin the sentence by saying 'remember its a fall wedding' lol like i have to justify my colors! grrr lol

One of the MOH. She compares everything to her wedding which was completely and totally 100% the opposite style of mine. She also has some warped sense of what she thinks is 'etiquette'

FMIL!!!!! She needs to understand 1.) I'm not a New Yorker, therefore things will be different than the other weddings you have gone to 2.) I'm not jewish, so if I don't about certain traditions-YELL AT YOUR SON NOT ME 3.) this is 2011 in USA, not 1950 in Russia- THINGS CHANGE!!!!

Definitely the in-laws ... they seem to think I am this crazed, high maintenance snob, and that's far from the truth (well, the high maintenance snob part ). I just want our wedding to be the perfect day, and I see nothing wrong with that. I try to play devils advocate, and tell myself that they just want to give advice on saving money ... but it definitely bothers me at times.

FMIL for sure! my mother, believe it or not and a few people who thought they knew everything
i think everyone has a few people that cant keep their words or business to themselves!

I made it very clear from the get-go that if anyone wanted to be involved in the planning, we were doing it my way. If they opened their mouth, they would no longer be involved.

My mom and my FMIL but for opposite reasons
My Mom I think just feels bad I didn't get my gown at Kleinfeld, not getting married on a Saturday nightm not doing Viennese. She wanted me to wait longer so I could have a more fancy wedding..believe me we are spending a ridiculous amount as it is.
My FMIL doesn't know what the fuss is all about and thinks we are spending way too much on everything. I guess I slipped at how much my dress cost, which to me was really reasonable, and my FMIL actually called up my mom saying how it was so ridiculous that I was spending that much on the gown..meanwhile, I said above, my mom wishes I could have gone to Kleinfeld and spent twice as much.
