I'm in June, but I wanted to find out from other Vanderbilt brides who are having their ceremonies there to how early they will be arriving at the Mansion? We wanted to get there 2-3 hours before and 'the management' is giving us a hard time saying we can only get there 1 hour before to do pictures beforehand.

I was planning on getting there early for pictures. have not discussed yet. will let you know. Perhaps you can do some pictures at the arboretum right by there 2 hours before and then do the rest at the Mansion in the hour before. You're not by any chance using Imagine are you??

I'm getting married there in August, so both of you are before me. I was planning on taking pictures there before my ceremony too, and I wasn't aware that you can only arrive 1 hour early. I'm going to call them tommorrow about this. Are you having a day or evening wedding?
I'm using Imagine, too. When I asked Lia, she said they have never taken photos at a wedding there before, but she has taken pictures on the grounds, so she is familiar with the place.
Did either of you go to the food tasting this past weekend? We couldn't make it so we will be going to the next one.

Hi lulu, well Imagine will have at least one bride before you, ME. we couldn't go to the tasting either, but i have heard people raving about the one in Dec. My parents went and they loved everything! we have to pick our menu this week. very exciting !! good luck and please let me know how it goes if you call about the picture timing. Thanks!!

Hi JoRo & Lulu: I'm not using Imagine, I'm using VIP for photography. I think I called Imagine initially but they were already booked for my day. My wedding is in the evening and there is not another event before mine - just summer school which ends at 5 I'm told. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who thought we could get there more than 1 hour before. I'm planning to come there from Manhattan and so will need to get dress at the mansion before doing pictures. Also being a neurotic bride I wanted to see that the set up by the vendors were done as planned. And I didn't want to feel rushed and wanted to be able to have time to just relax a bit before the festivities began and I don't think 1 hour will be enough. Yet another thing to stress about. Hopefully things will work out for all of us on the timing issue.
Oh, we went to the tasting in November and the food was great. I posted pictures of the food, if you want to see when you are making decisions just do a search under my member name.

JoRo & Lulu: Just wanted to update you on the arrival time issue. Vanderbilt was able to accomodate my early arrival. I'm so happy and relieved.

That's great! I just spoke with them today and she said once it gets closer to the date, she'll know if I can come in earlier than an hour.

Girls - it is getting close. i cannot decide whether i am excited or having an anxiety attack. probably both. we are doing our sit down/details appointment tomorrow (over the phone). They are being so good to us to do it that way so I don't have to fly up!
