Why am I doing this???

Ever feel like it is completely insane to spend this much on a party?

FH just called me and his car broke - leaving him stranded in Queens. He just fixed something else on it a few weeks ago so now we know it's time to buy something new. It's not worth putting more $ into.

Now I feel silly spending another penny on the wedding. I guess the ridiculously overpriced photographers that I was thinking about last night are out of the question!

Sorry to vent!!!!

sometimes I have that feeling, but it is one of the biggest celebrations of your life. It only happens once. Your never going to throw this party ever again so you might as well do it right.

And if your lucky maybe you will make a little of it back in gifts

I completely feel the same. I was so looking into having an elaborate wedding, but now with buying the house- I wish I saved more on the wedding and spent more on the house!

I hear you on that- FH keeps reminding me- its one day! and the day after, we need to be able to wake up and pay our bills.

try noelle p. wilson for photography- she is incredible and her prices are so reasonable!

Glad to know I'm not alone! I have friends that went all out and some that spent less than $10,000 total. I'm starting to wish I was more inspired by the $10,000 friend!

Sometimes these things happen that you can't control!!! Don't worry you will make allot back on gifts!!!!

Yes, especially now that we're buying a house and are trying to save every penny, I'm like, why the heck did we spend so much money on the wedding?

But I dont regret it at all...it only happens once, and it was exactly what I always dreamed it would be.

There are a lot of fabulous photographers that are very inexpensive. Can you cut back in other places rather than photo?

I'm trying to cut back everywhere! It doesn't always work of course.

I think I was looking at some vendors that are a bit out of my price range - I'm sure I'll find some great ones.

ugh i know how you feel - we found out good news about this house we are trying to buy - its a short sale so its a long process and after a month we still dont know if our offer was accepted yet - but yesterday we found out that it looks like the bank might take our initial offer - it was almost scary b/c even though we really want this house the thought of having the house and the wedding all at once is a lot - especially when we could have practically bought the house with all the money we are spending on the wedding (house is in florida so less expensive than up here) but i do want the big wedding so i guess we'll just have to roll with the punches!

I think everyone feels this way at one point or another, espeically if you are paying for the wedding, however, it will be worth EVERY penny! I dont regret spending one dime on the wedding. It was the BEST day of our lives, and it only comes around once. Make it as special as possible!
