Why am I so itchy???

The past 2 days I have been sooooooooooo itchy.... I cant figure out what it is...and no matter how hard or how much i scratch it never goes away...

I find it hard to believe its pregnancy related since Im only 17 weeks...but I cant figure it out... I have no rash...no dry skin, I havent changed my detergent...

Any ideas what this is???

I posted this in another thread on this site... Towards the end of my pregnancy I started to itch like crazy. Eventually it spread to my arms and legs.... I wound up with a somewhat dangerous condition called cholestasis..... so if it spreads to other parts of your body, I would make sure your doc knows, just so he can keep an eye on you. I'm sure you are fine and it's just itchy from your expanding belly , but just wanted to mention this Just in case.

My itching started on my belly and then spread. I'm not sure where you are itching. I had no rash or other symptoms, just constant horrible itching. I got this at the end of my pregnancy though... not sure when it is possible to get this. There is something else called pupps, which I don't know much about.
It could be none of the above, but I thought I would mention these..... you should get in touch with your doc.... he/she may be able to help you. Feel better... I know how horrible the itching can be.

I had PUPPS...sounds like that could be it

I had that I think even before 17 weeks. My hands and feet really itched a lot. I asked the doctor about it and they did a test for something to do with the liver (even though he said that usually happens later in the pregnancy). It wasn't that and they had no idea why I was itching. I just had to live with it and it drove me crazy. It did go away at one point further along. I feel for you .

I looked into PUPPS and I dont have a rash or anything....but I dont know...

Im gonna wait til Monday and call the DR...Its wierd it dosent itch constantly but prob about 2 or 3 times a day...and cream helps but only for a short period of time!

Definately check with your doc! Whatever it may be, I'm sure your doc will be able to give you some relief. I started having really severe itching about 2 weeks ago and it ended up being cholestasis. Keep us updated

I just wanted to add that my poor friend was just diagnosed with this she is 35 Weeks with twins.

I feel so bad for her! They are thinking of inducing her because her blood pressure has going to up because of the stress.
