I know why... because I'm not having a 'professional' do them - and the girl lives in GA, and we only communicate via e-mail, so I'm afraid to set the wheels in motion because if she does them and I don't like the end result, I'm stuck and I'm down to the wire now.
Plus I feel sick that I'm not putting 'son of...' on the invitation, but that would mean that I have to put 'the late...' for my FH's father and I don't want that on the invitation, and I don't think he wants that either. We are putting my FH's mom on the rehearsal dinner invite, which she's paying for. I showed my FH both invitations (with and without his parents' names) and I don't even think he noticed the difference.
Okay... that was my confession. Please make me feel better so I can e-mail the girl and tell her to start printing! .

START PRINTING!!! I know how you feel but you need to have some time just in case you don't like them, you can change them!

Why don't you just put son of and have his mothers name on the invite. Don't worry - the invites will come out great and start the ball rolling.

I'm sure the invites will come out great. If you are really feel like you can't trust her maybe you should think about using a professional? American Weddings makes pretty nice affordable ones, doing it yourself is always an option too. I didn mine myself b/c I was concerned about them being perfect.
Also, about your FH I think you should just put son of and his mother's name. And mention his father in the church program.

check out my invites in my album....we said parents of 'our names'. HI parents are remarried and it was too much to add three sets and impossible, so we just did parents of. same would work for you.

Sarah I know exactly how you feel. I ordered my invites from INDIA. Everything was via e-mail and sometimes the English / translation wasnt the best. In the end, I got the perfect invite and was happy I trusted them to do it. I have had soooooo many call me on my invites.

Relax and just order them. I didn't put his parents names on the invitations either. I don't think that's wrong.

It'll be fine! I know what you mean about what to write on the invites. We just put
Aaron, son of Mrs. David McCormack,
blah blah blah
and it worked out fine. We were happy we did it that way after a lot of thinking about it

I felt bad, both FH's parents passed away and I just put my parents on it since they are paying, he felt better not having their names on it, I think it would have really upset him more than anything. In your situation, I would put his mom's name on the invite.

Start printing! But one thing-if you don't feel comfortable with this woman-trust your gut. I don't blame you for not putting Fh's parents names on the invites. It would probably be really hard on him to look at the invite and always be reminded of that on his wedding invitation. You could just put his mom's name on there though. I would try and decide soon-time is running out.
