I can never get it right...I will start exercising daily but I won't watch as much what I eat...or I will eat really well, follow the WW points but be too lazy to exercise. I wish I could just force myself to WANT to exercise...my mom is 50 and exercises 6 days a week... she has since she was 18. I just don't love it enough to incorporate it into my daily life...even though I HAVE TO! What's my problem!!
It's not like I don't have things happening that should motivate me!
GRRRRRRrrr....

I actually love to work out but so many of my family and friends don't. You are on the right track with WW, I think it is the most realistic and I use it daily to keep my portion size in check. You need to do things you like to do and not think of them as exercise. Also exercise with MOM this can be bonding time too! Good luck!

Re: Why can't I force myself to LOVE exercising????
A month and a half ago I laughed at how much the Buff Brides program at NYSC was....I bought the book instead for 16 bucks. I'm so bored now that I actually hunted down a trainer I used to work with at the club and begged him for a standing Tuesday evening appointment until my wedding....if someone is not haunting my life, I am just not motivated.

You need to find something you like to do, so it becomes more fun than exercise. Perhaps a sport you like, or something.
I hate treadmills, stationary bikes, et al. Give me a day of bodyboarding, or a game of roller hockey and I'm more than happy to 'exercise'.

Re: Why can't I force myself to LOVE exercising????
I am a exercising freak. I go to the gym 7 days a week. Th eway i motivate myself is by seeing my body tighten up and my clothing get loose. I love it. One of my MHs goes with me to the gym and i also walk with my BM i love it. It gives us a chance to spend productive time together. I have also found this to be a way to let off steam that is forming from planning the wedding. If you can't find motivation by yourself join a gym with a friend it works. It is also worth it in the long run. My FH never saw a problem with my shape before but now he really loves the way i look. This is all the motivation i need.
Re: Why can't I force myself to LOVE exercising????
The ONLY form of exercise I like is walking with my dog around the neighborhood mostly because I am nosey and I like to see whose houses are for sale, how their landscaping is done, etc.

It is really hard to get started. Once you do excerise you will start to get into a routine and will eventually see results and want to keep doing it. Try excercising with a friend. That way you can motivate each other to do it.

Wow..it amazes me to see how much you all HATE getting yourselves together for the wedding. Some of you have some great motivation and others have the right ideas, like starting with youe BMs, MOH, MIL, etc. But the #1 reason, you owe it to yourselves. All the planning of transport, favors, reception hall, church....most people forget about themselves.
YOU'RE THE MAIN ATTRACTION THAT DAY!!!
As weird as this sounds, I'm actually pushing myself more than ever and I'm the GROOM!!!
BTW, I work in the fitness field so if you guys have any questions, have at it!

Re: Why can't I force myself to LOVE exercising????
It may sound silly but usually I have to be in the mood to go exercising. Most times I can go and get energized for a great workout. There are sometimes I go and have to drag my behind to the gym, those days I think of the wedding and it helps.

I think once you get on a schedule excersing will just become a part of your day... I have to work out everyday... it lets me totally loose some stress and I feel really good afterwards... certain days I am so tired and would love to skip a day but then I will feel as if I let meself down... try w/ tae~bo... thats what orginally got me into working out... also Pilates are great... bt after a whle I got a little bored w/ the tapes... Lucille Roberts is an awesome place to work out...all women...and then have great classes... now I am into running... like I said earlier it such a stress realiver, especially after a day at work...

Re: Why can't I force myself to LOVE exercising????
I need to get back into a routine...your right, that helps so much. I had a great routine going after the holidays and then I had a break from work around Easter and it threw me off & I haven't been able to get back on track. I am actualyl startign a new job next month so I am going to start out with a morning routine from day 1 to get myself used to it. I just wish I didn't hate it...I know it's all in my head and I have to keep reminding myself that I will be the main attraction ....maybe hypnotism will work!!
