my wedding is in less then 175 days....and I haven't lost a single pound!!!! I've had a very stressful couple of years (school has been a nightmare.....back and forth to NJ a lot.....finding a house....grandfather sick....i could go on)...and I'm def. a stress eater.....so here I am.....closing in on my wedding day and I feel like absolute hell because I look my worst. I don't want to walk down the isle not feeling the best I can...but I haven't had the will to do anything about it. In turn, I get mad at myself...and then stressed...and then....well, you get the idea. I got my membership to Lucille Roberts....and I never go. I have no time!!! I have class in Brooklyn tues-wed-thurs, and then I work fri-sat-sun. That leaves me with mondays. I have a million excuses....it really is pathetic. Why can't I just get that itch I used to get?? I feel like i'm in a total slump. Oh and to top it off, my sister is getting married in November...I am her MOH......I feel so disgusting and am fearing being in her pictures. Not to mention, my e-pics....omg....from what I saw, I looked awful. My outfit was all wrong...and it did nothing to help me. I'm fearing meeting up with TP on monday bc I don't even want to look at myself.......anyone have any words of advice?? Or something to hit me with to wake me up???? I hate feeling like this.....my nursing license came in the mail and it has my drivers license pic on it from 2002....my dad looked at it and was like 'wow.....look at how great you looked'....i was like ya....i know....and to think i thought i was fat back then....i'd kill to go back to that...... thanks for listening

Re: why can't I get motivated?? (very long rant)
the 1st thing u have 2 do is try 2 eat right....even if u cant get 2 the gym try to put good foods in2 your body....i am not exactly in your position but I would like 2 lose 10 pounds & cant find the motivation either.....but the one thing i do it try 2 eat good & that keeps any additional pounds from coming on.
your motivation should be your big day. you dont want to look back at your pics & have regrets....good luck, & you will make your goal if you put your mind to it.

I'm sorry you are feeling this way! Do you have anyone that you can get into a routine with, that sometimes makes it easier. My best advice is to just start tomorrow, just like you get through every other stressful part of your life, you CAN do this. And remember it's for YOU! You're going to be beautiful!

Re: why can't I get motivated?? (very long rant)
thanks......it's the stress of everything happening at once that is killing me.....and I've gotten so lazy because I'm on the road so much. Here I am making excuses again....but it's like.....every night go to bed and do the whole 'i'm starting tomorrow'....and before you know it....I mess up. It's really pathetic. I've read so many brides that said the one thing they regret is not working as hard as they could've before the wedding.....i don't want to feel that way.....i just need a push......ugh this *****.....and aunt flo decided to visit today which is making me feel even more bloated and disgusting.....god help me lol

thanks hun....funny you say that....that whole gym membership thing was supposed to happen with one of my girlfriends....but she went the day after I did to sign up, and she HATED the sales lady (she IS very annoying, pushy, and rude) so because of that (???) she didn't sign up.....I have tried looking for another LR gym buddy but I haven't found one. I think i'm going to post for a WW buddy or something that I can meet up with.....I've always done so good with a friend

1st let me say congrats on getting your nursing license! I know how much work it is (not a nurse, but I've worked in health care for almost 10yrs). Don't be so hard on yourself. Working and going to school is alot by itself. Adding the stress of planning a wedding would make anyone feel overwhelmed! I am not the most motivated person in the world, ok, really I'm lazy. When I was having trouble going to the gym, I ended up recruiting a friend to go with me. We kinda kept each other in check and reminded one another why we signed up in the first place. Do you have anyone you can bring with you to give you that extra little push?

I think that one of the best things that I've ever done was weight watchers...I know that the meetings can be cheesy, but the people there are always so supportive.
Also, the weekly payment always kept me motivated. It killed me to know that I was throwing money away and not losing anything (that is of course if I wasn't sticking to the diet).

Re: why can't I get motivated?? (very long rant)
i know exactly how you feel.. i am getting married in april too.. i signed up for ww lost abut 5 pounds but feel off the wagon.. i am determined to lose weight. so this morning i am right back on.
sometimes i feel so overwhelmed not only with the wedding but life in general. my job, family & friends, etc. but i what i do is step back & take a deep breath & realize what's important
why don't you try & set aside just 1 hr a day just for yourself. either take a walk or go the gym. you owe yourself that.
don't give up you still have time!!! my parents give me little digs too about my weight..but that's gets me more motivated.
good luck.. if you need to talk feel free to send me an FM

Re: why can't I get motivated?? (very long rant)
i lost 20 lbs last year when i started going to a nutrition. i started going for stomach problems and the weight loss was just an added benefit - when she weighed me the first time i was like how did i let myself get this bad. but the motivation was great and i was really happy with the results; i did WW a long time ago and i agree it works also but i'm not one for counting points (although i know the have different programs now) and i really think the nutr helps you make permanent lifestyle changes. I also joined NYRR and started taking some running classes. I couldn't run more than 5 minutes a year and a half ago and now i've run two half marathons in the past 4 months.
don't get me wrong - i just started going back to school plus work so i kind of know what you are dealing with; i was worried i'd fall off the wagon so i signed up for some personal training sessions. It all requires money, but if you're like me the money you spend will motivate you to go and stick with it. HTH - whatever you do just try not to get discouraged - i lost all that weight in like 4-5 months, not overnight, and i've kept off most of it - it takes time (which you still have!) but it's worth it!!
sorry so long

i know, it wasn't my thing either. i only like running outside i get so bored on the elliptical and treadmills. one girl i worked with a LONG time ago joined LR and did all step classes and spin classes - I love spin class. maybe try that too - if it's fun it's so much more motivating to go.

Re: why can't I get motivated?? (very long rant)
I also have had every excuse in the book not to lose the weight. Me and FH were always saying 'the diet starts tomorrow.' I wish I could give you stellar words of wisdom...and it would get you motivated to do it, but it really is something you decide to do on your own.
I have been on and off of weight watchers for years, and I never lost a substantial amount of weight, but it did always get me motivated to start. I joined Jenny Craig in May 2007, and I am down 40 lbs...which is the most I have ever lost. I didn't think it would work, but if you are motivated enough, any plan will work. Jenny Craig can be expensive, especially at first, but looking back on all I have spent, I feel that it was worth every penny.
You will do it...I know you will feel beautiful on your wedding day. If you ever need to talk...feel free to fm me.

well, since we are date twins, do you want to have a competition. We can do like a biggest loser. Maybe that will motivate both of us. FM if you are interested!
