Why do I watch platinum weddings?

They spent $75,000 on flowers!!!!!

I know! I actually deleted a whole bunch of them from my DVR because it makes me a little sick.

I did like Four Weddings though! The one chick had hers at Swan Club!

I cant stand that show - Platinum Weddings is pretty much a show about rich people's weddings. The next one they should feature is Donald Trump's latest wedding...

These weddings shows are usually on TLC or WE channel. The 'Four Weddings' is on TLC.

thats exactly what the show is about....

When we first got engaged I used to love the show, but, now that we know what everything costs, not so much.

I think they should have shows about real weddings and how we can make our own platinum weddings, on a budget!

I know! I would never go on it! They were pretty mean, too! It's not like ANY of the weddings were a train wreck like the ones on My Fair Wedding or anything. But I still enjoyed it. Oh yeah and it is on TLC! I'm not sure when it's on though! I recorded it late Friday night, I think.

ETA: By the way Kris, I can't think of one negative thing any of the brides said about Swan Club. They all loved the place and the food and everything. I think she might've actually won in the food category.

i know, I love the wedding channel!! My FH and I's favorite show is Rich Bride Poor Bride... It's scary to see how much over people spent on their wedding bc I know that's going to be me LOL.

ITA..ppl can go overboard with spending but whats even more frightening is how vendors jack up the price the minute you tell them its for a wedding. I think weddings would be more affordable if there weren't florists or DJ's out there charging an arm and a leg. I mean, $ 75,000 for just FLOWERS? and then I met with a photographer once that quoted me a STARTING basic package for a wedding at around $7,500!! I mean, come on!! Some of these vendors are just taking the cake.

Was actually surprised though that vendors allow their brides on it. As we know, everyone has their own opinion,. and i can imagine the girls were a lil harsher trying to up their chances at winning, but there it is, televised opinions about a hall, the food, the decor etc.... just surprised me.

No one was rude at all, but dont know that hearing 'the food was bland, or the food was cold' would be the best advertising.

do i make sense?

It definitely makes sense! But I guess they go with the whole idea of there's no such thing as bad publicity.

watching Platinum Weddings makes me want to kill those women ... i mean, i wish i had the kind of money to spend on a wedding ... but i don't ... so yes, i'm a hater
