Why do people assume that dressing for a Saturday wedding should be more formal than any other wedding day?

Why do people assume that dressing for a Saturday wedding should be more formal than any other wedding day?

I really can not stand that. I have even went to a Saturday afternoon wedding and alot of people had on clothes you would wear to work!! One woman had a sweater and pants!! Guests should look just as nice for your wedding. Do you agree?

I feel men should wear suits regardless and women should dress in cocktail dreses for day weddings and something sleeker (even a cocktail dress with dressier jewlery) for an evening wedding

Definitely. I would get decked out no matter what day the wedding is. I love to get all dressed up anyway. A wedding is a formal affair no matter what day or time it is.

I agree.... this is one thing that is aggravating me b/c we are getting married on a Friday, and our CH begins at 4:30, so people assume it can be casual.
