ITA- I registered for the stuff we NEEDED- because we live together already so people are buying us stuff we already have... but I guess just return them and get the actual stuff we do need?

I don't know. All you can do is laugh or cry. I chose laugh because that's what I'm doing.

I returned anything and everything that people 'added' to my registry...got the cash back or credit. No idea why ppl do this.

I had the same thing where I registered for specific towels and I got towels in a slightly different shade from a different store and at least they somewhat tried for color but meanwhile the sizes and fabrics of the towels were totally different. just return it and exchange it for what you want. you end up losing a bit of money but mostly time and aggravation but in the end youll be able to fill your house with everything you wanted on the list.

they sometimes are buying things for themselves...if they buy it at the same time as they are buying gifts for you, it shows up on your registry!
