I think people lie in general bc they are embarassed of the truth ...
I am so **** honest people hate me for it.

I'm a horrible horrible liar... so i tell my Fh not to worry about me ever lying to him, cuz he'd see right through me. I agree i do little white lies now and then if im embarassed by the truth, but nothing that can hurt anyone. So in other words I don't lie. I'll usually just not answer instead of lying.

I work with someone who says lies now and then. I know when she's lying.I feel like telling her! I don't know why people feel the need to lie.

Maybe to make themselves feel better... If someone asks me a question and I hate the sound of the answer to it, instead of saying- a loser answer- people will embellish a little just to make it sounds more palatable- not necessarily to the other person but to themselves... I find myself doing it sometimes...
If someone asks me about my parents involvement in my wedding for example, I don't want my friends to know that they haven't aknowledged it and haven't done ****... I would rather pretend that my mother actually came with me to get my wedding dress rather than the ridiculous truth.... It sounds so stupid...

People lie for lots of reasons - insecurity, embarassment, so as not to hurt someone else's feelings, to get out of a situation, to get what they want, etc...Everyone lies once in awhile - and most times is fine, but some lies are worse than others. And some people are pathological liars, which I think is a real problem. I knew a girl like this and it got ridiculous after awhile. She lied to make herself sound better but she ended up with no friends b/c noone could trust her.

Yes!!! That is the worst! Pathological liars who LIE all the time! I mean, everyone has.... calling in sick to get a day off..... when FI asks if he has gained weight, I will say he looks wonderful.... But a path.liar who just makes up anything!!! Crazy stuff!! That is the worst...
I knew someone who actually said she was an heiress! Or that her FI was going to get her a 5 carat ring but she begged him to get 1 carat!!! Crazy out there stuff!!! We all laugh at those people!

I used to work with this girl who was a real a&* & she was trying to tell people that the ring her boyfriend was going to get her,Madonna bought first. Yeah,right!

Everyone hates a liar,i know i do butwe all are guilty of it & people have their reasons for it especially to avoid consequences.I am not for lying but i do know that if someone lied to me in the past they probably will again its the extent of the lie you need to think about!

dkja i knew someone liked that. she was beyond a pathalogical liar. she lied so much she started to believe herself.
i think her reason for lying was because her parents are divorced and she is an only child so to amuse herself she would lie. she had 2 friends and the 3 of them all hung out and she told one person that the other said something about her and she didnt then confrontations would start and this liar girl got a real kick out of watching everyone fight and argue and she would just continue with her lies.
in fact this girl is even going to law school. she fits right in

Hmmmm. Probably because the truth doesn't sound so good to them for the multiple reasons listed before like insecurity and embarrassment etc...
