Tonight FH, myselfand my brother are going for tuxes. Next thing you know my mother decides to come along with my dad and my grandfather. She said she wants a say in what my dad and grandfather wear which is fine but can she do it another night????? FH and I were going to go to dinner, go for the tuxes with my brother and then for coffee.
Every time I go to do something my mother insists on bringing everyone. I tried to get her to go another night but she won't.
November 8th can't come soon enough!!!!!

Lori - Relax....take a deep breath and don't let your Mom make you crazy. She's probably just very excited and wants to be involved. Work with her, when you can, and don't allow her to drive you nuts if you can't change your plans for her. Just think, most of the work is done at this point...try to stay calm and let the little things pass. Catherine

I wouldn't take the rest of the people, it could turn into a nightmare, especially if your mom's taste is different from that of FH... You want FH to feel comfortable and for you to have some influencing ability over his choices, so bringing mom and etc can complicate things a lot.

Your Momma loves you and is a sweet lady. She doesn't mean any harm but she probably isn't thinking clearly. Can you tell her that you and Neil just want to spend the time with your brother and that you can all go another night with everyone.
Explain to her that you and Neil really need to be able to walk around and look at everything without distractions!

If it were me.. talking to my mother (step) is like talking to a brick wall. It usually wastes my time and I usually end up looking dumb.

Lori, I met your mom and all I can say is, she loves her baby girl and she wants to help so pardon her, this is the only wedding she is going to get for a long time. Your brother is still a baby. Let her enjoy it. I know, I know, Nov 8th will be here soon only 2 mos and some days right

Lori, I 've known your mom for 20-something years and she is italian - like my mother -- so listen to me. LOL Sometimes you have to pick and choose your battles or else you'll go friggin' insane.
Let her come for the tuxes. She means well, she's been dreaming about this day since you were born. Next time you do something like this tho, and you don't want her to come, tell her on your way out the door. maybe you're giving too much info all the time?
