why do some ceremony sites not allow aisle runner?
My church allows them, so it's not an issue for me, but what is the reasoning behind the 'no aisle runner' policy at some churches / RHs?

yup that's the same reason i heard. most runners don't have the double sided tape or grips on the bottom, and therefore it's easier to slip on them...and halls / churches are afraid of a lawsuit.

Alot of churchs and halls won't let you throw rose petals or anything like that down the aisle either because they're afraid to get sued!!

Me too- we didn't have one when we got married for that reason.

I have been to a wedding that the guest completely fell down the stairs that was leading up to the gazebo where they were getitng married. It kinda makes me wonder if i should have one or not.

No aisle runner recommended at Riviera. I am guessing that aisle runner can be quite slippery on wooden floor??

This breaks my heart because I saw some beautiful personalized ones and this is something I wanted to do. My church gave the big fat no way, as they were sued for someone falling on their way out of the church after a wedding.

Fire hazard actually. Our church had a thing about that -- if there is a fire, someone can possibly trip on it. Do I think this is rediculous? Yes -- what are the odds of someone tripping on an aisle runner during a fire?...but whatever.

SAame thing w. rose pedals, you can trip on them. I had a runner at the church, tho. And I threw rose pedals anyway even though the deacon yelled at us!

That was the reasoning my church had as well. It was put in the booklet they gave us when we picked our day.
I looked at it as one less thing to worry about having to get or make!
