Why do we have so many forums?

The boards are getting all mixed up lately.

I think what happened was that a lot of people begged for them, we got them and then the people who used to sort of moderate them (unofficially) left to do other things with their lives.

LOL .. me too . I came around after that one was started, but I cannot understand an entire forum for May brides alone.. is is THAT much of a bigger month for weddings than the other 11 mos??

The May board was a prize for the first thread to reach a 1000 posts - it was a May bride thread.

I know that a lot of people left but it wasn't their job per se to keep every posts organized. That pretty much falls on the people that are posting. I think the forums make it easier in general to find threads of interest.

I agree with this .. people post haphazardly without realizing there are other forums! When I see NWR on BHB, I cannot figure it out!

The reason for all the forums is to categorize things of interest to people, which is definitely not the case here .. everything falls into TWO big categories, BHB or NWR. I think its become 'easy' for people just to post on those two boards b/c they have the most traffic. But if LIWs doesn't come up with someone to moderate the boards, this will never get resolved.

I agree that BHB and NWR have the most traffic. But I also really like the Brides Review board. I think that is a great tool for brides doing vendor research.

There are so many brides who only go to the BHB board and never go to NWR. Maybe that us why there are NWR posts on BHB.

There's a lot of crossover. Maybe they should drop the home, slim down & recipe forums if no one is going to post there anyway.

It's not really hard to see that there's a NWR forum though.

I think the review board is a great idea! It must be useful to planning brides to search out vendors and NW's that used the service for more specific information.

I like a variety of boards but I'm not a big fan of the 2004, 2005 and May Boards ... those aren't as helpful as all the rest IMO. I love the Home & Recipe Boards.

When there were a lot more people on this site that posted 100 times a day there needed to be additional boards. You could post a topic and within 5 minutes it could be off the first screen because so many posts went back and forth. Now that the boards have slowed quite a bit I also wonder if we need this many subdivisions. I was actually just thinking about that with Parenting and TTC especially since people post the same topics/questions and both boards.

The May board was very active this time last year. There were a lot of May brides last year(I was one of them!)

Some of us on the 2004 board find it very helpful. We're past a lot of the general questions and much more in tune with what we are doing for the actual wedding. Instead of planning we are implimenting.

I never understood the May board (even with the reason given to me) seems odd to me.

Slim down is pretty active actually

But I'll admit Charity and Storyboard get very little hits.
