weve been in contract for two months, it seems as if everything is done. The seller would like to close asap, I would like to close asap, The home is vacant. Why do I have to wait another month or even longer to close. Just for the formalities- it seems ridiculous. My on or about date is Feb 10 th- which means it could even go to March 10th, but WHY if everything is done and ready???????

DH is in title insurance, he asked me to ask you if you got a commitment letter from the bank. He said it could be title but he doubts it

Why dont you call your mortgage loan officer or processor and see what the hold up is?
I get people calling and asking me all day long and I dont mind, I actually like to help these people move along. Alot of times, they dont realize that we are waiting for something from them.

call call call - I found that I had to gently push everyone along to make sure no one was sitting and waiting for something or someone to do something! Get on the phone with your attorney, realtor, lender and if you can have the seller do the same thing.

You should get your commitment within the next week with the mortgage industry being so slow now.
