Why does there always have to be drama?

Why does there always have to be drama?

OK so this morning my mother calls the hotel we are using for the out of town guest to hold several family rooms. She had spoken to all of her sisters and brothers and got credit card info to book off 10 rooms... well she calls the hotel and is told that she can only book 8 right now.... why you ask? Well the girl who puts the rooms in a block is not in on Saturday and she has to add 10 more... so my mother was told to call back for those 2. Are you kidding me!?!?!? She wanted to give them $$$$ and she is told to call back at their convience? So I call the place and am told that the management has to authorize rooms being added to a block based on 'availability'... I had called the hotel before I gave out the # to family to make sure at least 40 rooms were 'available'!!! Then the lady tells me oh there are rooms, we just have to see if they 'can' be blocked!!! I asked her what happens when my guest call? Do I have to call every day to add more the block? Let me think 40 rooms at $150 each... $6000... and they want to piss me off! I don't want to be a bridezilla...

I agree. Tell them that for 2 rooms and agravation you'll take your money and your business somewhere else. Im sure a manager will suddenly be found and the extra two rooms will be blocked. Cant they reserve the two rooms and then just move them to the blocked rooms when they get a mgr. okay anyway?

I would have thought! Plus I have another 20-30 rooms to go! I guess some places just don't want to make $$$

I would def go elsewhere. they are allready giving problems watch them lose the reservation or dont block the rooms, they sound disorganized. sorry youre going through this, is this the only hotel near your hall?

I am giving them the benefit of the doubt so far... I have had only the best service up until this! I am hoping that maybe the girl that we spoke with yesterday was new and had no clue that she almost cost them six grand! I am suppose to hear from the 'wedding booker' tomorrow. I was planning on using only the one hotel to have all the guests in one place but yesterday I contacted another place as back up... and as a bargining tool if necessary . Hopefully it will all work out or they will be hearing fom me!
