I was running some errands and 2 guys were literally brawling in the middle of the avenue over a parking spot.
The guy in a blue van I am not kidding jumped out of his van and almost pulled the guy in a white car out of his car
Then the 2 of them were throwing punches, traffic was blocked up, people honking and a huge crowd just standing there watching.
Why doesnt someone call the police. I dont have a cell phone but someone in that crowd has to have one.
I got so aggrivated how these 2 men are tossing punches at each other, blocking traffic and no one calling the police that I walked 2 blocks to a pay phone and called the police.
I dont know what happened afterwards as I went home.
I dont get it, if you something happening that could possibly turn into a deadly situation (as their has been stories of people getting stabbed and shot over a parking spot) no one is asking you to jump in the fight, but simply call a police officer. Stop the fight instead of just staring at it

U cant u just find another spot (granted I usually flip this person off and find another spot on the other side of the parking lot so I dont get 4 flat tires)

Thats what it was. One of those phones on the street by verizon (i guess our terminologies about those phones are a little off)
If you meant going into a business and calling from one of there, i think it was just one of those at the moment i need to make a call and going into a store didnt just click in my head.

Hope none of you guys ever accidently park on my street and block my drive way. I've had two cars towed already.
The first one was scary tho..cop who answered ended up towing his girlfriend's sisters car.. My luck. Towed it because it had no insurance and was blocking my drive.
Second one was for just blocking the drive.
I have no patience for foolishness. One of my ex's refused to give me back my apt key and said 'whatcha gonna do?' I called every law enforcement I could think of. Said he was threatening me. Idiot pushed the cop when they got there. Bad idea...
Its just like Kitty Genovese in Kew Gardens in the 70's...something like 50 people heard her being stabbed but NO ONE called the police...from the comforts on their own home...she ended up dying in the parking lot 1-2 hours later...b/c no one called...
I have been told to yell fire...b/c people will respond to that...but not to police...
I know I was in Washington Square Park and a MAJOR fight broke out...my first priority was getting out of the way of the fighting men...then I saw someone calling the police...but maybe I should have to just in case...
but I always call if a traffic light is broken

I call the cops like once a weak cause of the loser 16 year olds who stand in front of my house and drink beer... One night one of them actually peed on my tire of my car and then dropped and Shattered a beer bottle on my side walk mike went out and had a fit held a flash light and made them pick up every glass sliver on the sidewalk it was funny.... I thought mike was gonna hurt them the were like what are u gonna do Buddy (talkin to mike) all mike did was say I said PICK IT UP AND THEY DID!!!!

That is very scary
Its a scary world we live in and I fear that one day their could be something happening and someone gets really badly hurt I dont want to be thinking I was there, I could have did something and I didnt. So if I see a fight I try and call the police.

PS i in turn picked up every bottle of beer that was all over the place and throw it on the front lawn of the girl they were hanging out with.
everyone says im mean and a partie pooper okkkk my friends never partied outside anad peed on peoples cars and smashed bottles on neighbors sidewalk?/

Yeah.. party has a whole new meaning these days.. I mean Im only 28 but i feel so old compared to these kids.. I NEVER did this sort of stuff.
Im not a complete wench.. I usually try to find the owner of the car or at least ask nicely to move, if not.. I call the cops.
I REALLY feel badly during the winter when homeless men fall sleep in my drive right next to sidewalk up against the brick wall that surrounds the garden.. I know its warm there as it blocks the wind.. and we keep it pretty snow free because the gate opens and closes there. We usually honk our horn or yell to wake them up (FH's grandmother has less patiences she grabs their jacket and screams at them im Chinese or pokes them with a stick). If nothing works.. we call the cops. Sad.
Now.. I have to be honest.. one early sunday morning I heard 3 bangs.. sounded an awful lot like gunshots to me.. so I got real still and listened.. the rule is.. if no one is screaming or crying then it either wasn't a gun or they're too far gone for help. I heard nothing..
2 days later I found out three people got shot around the corner. Felt guilty for not calling the cops.

You know what....I don't think I would have called either. You know why? Because if two idiots like this want to beat the crap out of eachother over a parking spot, let them do it. I wouldn't be bothered wasting the valuable time of a cop on two complete MORONS like this!
I know I'll get flamed for this, and I know the dangers, but odds are...these were just two testosterone laden morons that care more about their cars than anything.

their cars werent even that nice. the blue van was 3 different colors and the white car was an old white station wagon.
Dont feel guilty. I go by the same rule. If i dont hear screaming or cries I tend to turn away.
