Why I love FH today and everyday....

Girls, so you all know that I was just down in the dumps about wedding response....well please read what my FH just emailed me from work. It is long so bear with me. Thanks girls! He is truly the man of my dreams:


Hi honey!

I am on the computer doing some equipment inventory work for Brandon and I wanted to send you a little note. I know that you are upset about the wedding responses. I am too. But we need to not let this get us down. I know that's easier said than done, I want to start calling people and yelling at them, but that won't get us anywhere. We can't get discouraged because of this. This is our wedding day. No one else's. It is going to be a beautiful day. The weather is going to be pretty, whether it's snowing or sunny or cloudy or whatever, it's going to be perfect. Our wedding day would be perfect whether we had 5 people or 5000 people. It will be a perfect day because it will be the first day marking the rest of my life with you. I can't wait to see you walking down the aisle to me in that dress. I can't wait to dance our first dance and cut our cake and carry you into our hotel room. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me. I don't know what I did to deserve you, but I must have done something right along the way. I know that we are stressing out right now because we haven't gotten the responses that we need or expected to get. But there is still time. Some people by nature wait till the last minute for everything. Some people are just forgetful. And some people just have to make arrangements to be there. The people who really count will be there. If they don't really want to go, we can't make them, and we really shouldn't want those people there anyway. The people who want to be there but honestly can't make it for whatever reason are not saying 'no' because they don't love us or aren't happy for us. They may be old or ill or just plain poor. And if they didn't have to travel or pay for a hotel or leave behind their nursing care they would be there, and they will be there in spirit with us. Then there are those who haven't sent a response yet. Some of them are sending them as we speak. Some of them are maybe not sure if they are able to afford it or get off work or whatever. And for those all we can do is pray that they are able to make it. I hope and pray that we do have enough for the minimum so that your mom isn't paying extra for people who aren't there, and I do still think we'll have enough for that. You know, as I sit here and think about the people who aren't coming and the people who are, I can't help but think of how blessed we really are. We have a wonderful extended family. Sure, there are some crazy people in there. Some funny, some weird, some scary, some funny-looking, too. But so many are kind and loving, and so many of them would do anything for us. And we would do anything for them just the same. And, we are blessed with some really great friends. We may not have a very large group of friends, but the friends we do have are true. The people in our bridal party and the few friends that we know at this point are definitely coming are really great friends. I can't think of better friends to have. Lauren and Adam have practically been around forever, Jaimie and Dana are not only good friends but good neighbors too; then there's Brian and Becky who even sent a response before my own family, and I wasn't even sure they could make it. Anyway, I could go on listing, but I think you understand. Many people go through life surrounded by people who are so called 'friends' but are really just a list of people they know and party with or work with or whatever. But how many of those people are there when you're in need? We have a good group of friends who we know are real. I think we should be thankful for that. I know it's discouraging to see no responses or to see responses coming back that we thought would be yeses but are no's. But we need to not let this ruin the experience for us. I want to enjoy this time we have, making wedding programs and place cards and out of town bags and bathroom baskets and all that jazz. More than anything, I want you to be happy. My perfect-for-me bride-to-be :) You make my heart smile every time you walk into a room. And you know what? When I see you walking down that aisle, you will be the only person I see in that room. No one else will matter. So yeah, it may be nice to see more people wanting to spend our special day with us, but however many people are there, it will still be our special day. And those people who aren't there will be the ones missing out. I love you!
