Yeah my sister's florist for her wedding said they're really expensive, but I don't remember why. They're So pretty though!

Labor and their delicacy.
1. It takes hundreds of them to make a bouquet, so it takes your florist longer=labor=$$$$
2. They are very delicate and do not hold up well. A rose is actually a hearty flower. If you keep stef out of water for even a short period of time they wilt quickly... usually the thinner the stem or the larger the flower (hydrangea) the more likely you should consider a hydration pack in your bouquet.

Exactly. All flowers have different prices! Some are more readily available than others (and this varies by season), some are harder to grow, you may need more of smaller varieties to make up a bouquet, etc, Roses are actually one of the most inexpensive flowers out there (but of course, still beautiful!)

I think it also has to do with the fact that to make a bouquet like that the florist has to wire each stephanotis individually to get that round shape. Not sure if that's true, but...

Re: Why is a pure stephanotis bouquet EXTRA $$$$$?
I had went to Wedding World in Commack and they told me I can get ANY kind of flowers including and exotic for my bo-k and they specifically said I can have a bo-k of all stephanotis for the same price. I'm going to have a large tight bo-k of red roses with some stephanosis in it good luck !

One florist told me it's because of the # of individual flowers & all the labor. One the magazines, maybe People?, said Jessica Simpson's Bok-K had just over 500 stephanotis blooms and took 2 hours to assemble after a small team hand wired each one.

Stephanopolis is little too... George that is. He worked in the Clinton White House and has his own news show on ABC. I wonder if he needs to be hand-wired.
