I'm waiting because I graduate with my masters in education in dec 06 and my FH graduates from med school in May 07. We didn't want to be in school married, plus we wanted to have stable incomes too. Also another reason is we need to save for the wedding. So everything works out. Although I really want to get married next year! But we are waiting and it's for the best, plus my FH won't let me push up the date! lol.

Same reasons.. I'm finishing my Master's this semester, plus it's my first year teaching, so I didn't want to stress myself out with having to plan the wedding too. We are also waiting to save money for the wedding and for our house. 2007 will be here before we know it....

Same here...waiting to finish school. I want to wait though. There is sooo much to do. I don't think I could get it all done in a year... Especially bcz of the $$$$!!!!

MOney was a big factor, plus when we got engaged I still had one semester to go, so I didnt want to be planning a wedding plus trying to find a job.
Turned out good though, because FH sister got engaged shortly after us and she is getting married next summer.

same thing- im waiting for school. We are both finishing our undergrad next semester so unfortunately we will have to go to school while being married - but at least well have a teaching job in our hands while we are married!
dont worry girls 07 is THE year to get married in come january we can say one more year to go!

Well I got engaged the month I graduated with my Master's so I am all done!! But have no money... . FH wanted to wait until 2007 (I thought about pushing it up but he wouldn't have it) We want to buy a condo/co-op next year and he knew that we just wouldn't be able to do both in the same year. We are trying to avoid renting so we don't want to get married and have nowhere to live!!!

We wanted to keep our date and it fell on a Friday in 07 so we decided to wait and figured it would help us save more money.

we wanted to save money...not only for the wedding but for a house. Also I didn't want to be rushed in planning everything right after each other.. i'd rather shop around & take my time... you are hopefully only engaged once.. so we might as well enjoy it longer.

FH is applying for his medical residency this year so it will be crazy and we could wind up moving anywhere in the country next june. I really wanted to get married in May, so we figured it would be best to wait till 07 so things were a little less chaotic and we were more settled.
ETA: It will also be nice to have him making a salary for a year before we get married

Money! Money! Money! We got engaged for Christmas of 04 - then everything went downhill from there...in this order:
I lost my job, His house went on fire, We had to close down our business (we had a photo lab, and becuase of machinery breakdown, the industry, digital cameras etc. being in business was no longer worth it)
We are finally getting back on our feet - I'm so excited, we booked the Watermill!
