That when a scenario that isnt the nicest (ex. the one about asking for money for the wedding), is stated
The fact that it isn't a bride here...SOOOO MANY are sooo quick to say TACKY TACKY TACKY...
But yet if it was a BRIDE HERE... God forbid ANYONE say tacky and the POSTER is RUDE and insensitive..
Just curious ? Not looking for drama just honest answers

Re: WHY IS IT?
Not sure, maybe it has to do with the friends on the board?

If it's a duck, I say it's a duck, no holds barred.
Red, did you ask for $$$$ for your wedding? Don't get upset!

I hope I didnt start anything with the post I made...
BUt, REd, I do agree- it is easy to call this bride tacky rude and weird (and she is) but we arent so quick to say that to people on here...probably because of the friendships...no one knows this bride that did this rude thing...but we know eachother to some point...

Re: WHY IS IT?
Because no one wants to hurt the feelings of someone they 'know' and although some of us may not know jack about each other, the fact that there's a name and a person behind the post deters a lot of people from posting their HONEST opinions. That really does irritate me though, because when I post I want honest, wonderful, different POV answers, not 'hooray, that's great' even though it may stink responses. I totally see your point...
Maybe if we all found a way of saying 'yuck' to each other without being mean or hurtful people would be more forthcoming, but I doubt it.

Re: WHY IS IT?
I personally think the word 'tacky' is over used when talking about wedding stuff, so I try to avoid using it in general, because I don't think it helps alot of the time unless the person is specifically asking if something is tacky or not (which I don't think people should do anyway because inevitably SOME people will think it's tacky and others don't and that offends the people who don't think it's tacky).
But... I agree with what was posted above in that it's alot easier to anonymously call someone you don't know tacky than it is to tell someone you 'know' through chatting that they or something they are doing is tacky. People try to be less blunt about it when it's someone they sort of know.

Re: WHY IS IT?
I guess I am rude b/c if I find something that another bride posts to be 'Tacky' I either tell her or dont post at all.
Sorry I cant be fake Even if that makes me seem rude

Re: WHY IS IT?
I would think it's just like you said if it's a girl on the boards people tend to hold back because they dont want to start any drama or hurt anyone's feelings. I dont know, good point though

Re: WHY IS IT?
I just hope that everyone on the boards are honest when questions are asked...
Personally- if I don't care for something- I'm not going to lie.... I mean people are asking your opinion for a reason, right... why lie?

Re: WHY IS IT?
Very true. I definitely think it has to do with not hurting people's feelings but I think not being honest when people are asking for opinions is worse. They way I see it...if you want to be 'yessed' to death when asking for opinions why bother asking for them at all.

Re: WHY IS IT?
thank you for the answers...
I see the point in not hurting peoples feelings BUT i guess if i really like something then i do not ask if others like it. If i am unsure i will ask. I know already that not EVERYBODY is going to agree (and to be honest if they did i would think something is wierd) So if someone thought a pair of shoes (ex. sneakers) are tacky....well to them it is tacky and they are being honest. I wouldn't necessarily think they are trying to hurt my feelings but just telling me how they feel.
I just think that people should understand that for ANYONE...your opinion should be the same. Should people be respectful sure...maybe it is the way you say it. But i guess i would rather have a few girls call something tacky then EVERYONE LOVING it. Just makes me feel that people are being honest with me.

yea but you are one who will jump on someone when you think they are being rude...when in fact THEY AREN'T!
So maybe before you do that you ask first. Just because someone has a DIFFERENT opinion, doesn't necessarily mean that theya re being RUDE!

Re: WHY IS IT?
I call it as it is to be honest! If someone said 'I'm thinking of doing this, what do you think?' I'd post 'Don't do it, tacky.'
In the end, I know we are all developing 'friendships' here, and I know it's an emotional time for us, but I would tell it to my girlfriends I'd tell it to anyone on here.

What we have to remember here is that we are asking each other's OPINIONS - it is not fact what someone thinks a certain way.
