Why is it always on a Sunday???

I have been wondering about Superbowl Sunday for years. I know football is usually shown on Sundays...however, why is the biggest game of the year on a Sunday...when everyone has to get up for work the next day?

Why not have it on Saturday?...start it Mid-to-late afternoon (i know the venue changes every year, ie, time changes)...and have the entire night to party and cheer for your team.

Sunday never made sense to me.

Is there a real reason that the Superbowl is on a Sunday???

i don't know if this is the reason you are looking for, but football itself is traditionally played on sundays. i think its only natural that the biggest game of the year is played on sunday as well. guys feel free to correct me if i'm wrong.

I figured as much.
