I wish I could wake up 20 pounds lighter in time for my wedding! I am a preschool teacher and snacks tease and tempt me all day.
I was good today though. I have lost 6 lbs since the new yr began only 20 more to go by april 5th! as of now, my wedding gown doesn't fit b/c i ordered it smaller. I know I can do it but fh comes home at night begging to get chinese food for dinner even though we are on diets! I was strong tonight and when we pulled up to the restaurant I told him I wanted to go back home--and we did! I enjoyed a tasty arugula salad :) I'll wake up proud.
I posted a pic of me one week ago in the Dominican REpublic and another from new years...
Maybe returning to this post will help me continue to lose :)

Re: why is losing weight being so darn difficult?
Keep it going!!!!!!!!! Drink TONS of water & stay away from ALL carbs & sugar. Just don't eat it. That's the fastest way to lose weight, I think...

Re: why is losing weight being so darn difficult?
Totally understand. Unfortunately stress releases cortisol into our bodies which in turn causes our body to gain weight and hold onto fat stores in our bodies. This is why so many brides have a hard time losing weight before the wedding!!! I've actually lost weight since i've been married. Wish that would have happened before the wedding!
Just remember, lots of water, Maybe bring some carrot sticks with you to school so when the kids are munching you can munch on that!!

i was just talking to our dietician at work today. regardless of your 'dieting style' keep your portion size down and your water intake up.
i know it gets frustrating..i have managed to gain 5 pounds since nov i would like to drop about 15 before my wedding. it always is a long road but if you keep your head in the game the weight will come off!

I lost 30lbs from February to September by Calorie Counting. It really works. PM me if you want the website address to a fabulous free calorie counting website with lots of tools and nutritional advice, help with menu planning etc. It LITERALLY changed my life going from a size 8-10 to a 0-2. (I am no financially affiliated just an amazed user).

Re: why is losing weight being so darn difficult?
6 pounds since the new year is great. Just use that as motivation. But i feel your pain! I can't keep snacking!
I can't work out til i get approval from my dr. (going tomorrow so hopefully as of tomorrow I can). So since i can't workout i'm not motivated to really diet. BAD i know

I feel your pain. I just started the South Beach Diet on Monday. I weigh myself next Monday. I just need to get my butt to the gym! If I can lose 55 lbs before my wedding I'll be amazed.

Re: why is losing weight being so darn difficult?
You know what is crazy... the last 3 weeks I have been dropping weight like crazy... I am 12 lbs smaller than I was and my dress is too big. This is the curse of the wedding stress!! Be careful because I am not even trying to lose weight!!

Re: why is losing weight being so darn difficult?
I have lost a total of 50 pounds since January 1st 2007 and 25 of them have been in the 3 months.
I stuck up pictures of myself all around the room and work out for an hour every morning. I keep snacks on me all the time, like wheat crackers and only eat 300 calorie meals 3 times a day and snack in between.
Its hard, I hate getting up but I feel like im gaining a lot of ground.
ALSO
Why not goto the sauna once a day? It will help your skin and help sweat out those extra last pounds!
I hope this helps :0)

Re: why is losing weight being so darn difficult?
Isn't it amazing??? I swear, its not the planning or the $ that 'weighs' lol on my mind....its losing weight to look good the day of.. it only happens once and those will be the pictures you have in your living room the rest of your life.
You are not alone..20lbs would be PERFECT! it's so frustrating when you do a diet such as WW or Jenny Craig and lose MAYBE 1.2 lbs a week.. When you can cut carbs and lose 1.2 lbs A DAY!!! it's definitely not the healthiest but unfortunately it actually does work, sooo I'm always conflicted about this issue...
KUDOS to this post, I think many of us can relate!

I totally agree with your approach to weight loss. I lost 30 lbs basically by making sure I was never totally hungry as at that time is when I always made unhealthy choices. If I kept hungry at bay by routine meals and healthy snacks (hello fruit galore!) I kept losing!! Congrats on your weight loss, it's amazing.
