We've met with the Deacon already and discussed things, but FH was in his last semester of school so he told us to call back when he was done and we would meet again to discuss pre-cana. Well over the past 3 weeks I have called and left msgs and the Deacon is not calling me back!! I'm starting to panic a little bit. What is the deal!? I even spoke to the lady in the office to make sure he was still there!

Don't worry..The church was the firth thing I booked..I wouldn't book anything else until I did the church...It was soooo frustrating...They will call you back eventually...Just be persistent!

Yep, I left another msg. This deacon is going to think I'm nuts, but I don't care!! I'm trying to keep my cool because it is the church, but lets face it, its going to cost a lot of money to get married at 'the church'!

why dont you ask the secretary what the Deacons office hrs might be and you can go and see him??? Use the suprise attack???? hehehe....GL they take FOREVER to get back to you! I had the same problem but with a different church

We are getting married there and didn't have any issues. Have you called the main office? There always seems to be someone there!

I think most churches do the same thing. I booked my date over the phone with the lady in charge of weddings at my church....I haven't been able to get the priest on the phone in months, finally I called two weeks ago and told the secretary I need to know if my date is set in stone bc I need to book my vendors -- she made sure I was in the book for my date and told me to talk to the priest after Easter bc he's really busy....
Try to talk to the secretary, she might be able to take care of your date for you. If the priest knows your not getting married til 2009, he figures he has plentyyyyyyyyyyy of time to get back to you.....pretty frustrating huh? (that's what his sec. told me ugh)

I am going through the same thing. These holy workers are very busy people!!!! My Priest was on vacay forever and he finally emailed me last week. I went in early January to set up the Church. So, I am still waiting. I am getting annoyed too but these people seem to be busy all the time.

When i went to book our church they took sometime to get back to us to set up time to meet & book the day we need. As for pre-cana we didnt have a problem so far. We dropped off the check & they gave the # to teh people who run the pre-cana. I justthink they take their time because they do have alot going on. Be persistent & if i were you i would go to the church in person. Good luck!

Well when we set up our first appointment he was easy to get a hold of. We told him our date and he said he was putting it in the book. Now I am trying to get an appointment for precana and I'm getting nowhere! I did call the office and she said he was sick the week before, but that he is in now and still nothing.

Thats not a bad idea, I think I am going to call tomorrow and have the secretary check the date for me. As long as I know my date is secure I will feel a little better.
