Laptops have gotten a lot cheaper in recent months. Dell makes some real budget priced ones.

If I had to knock this laptop... the brand is definitely a 'no-name'. Also it has an Athlon processor which is cheap... and its a battery hog.

But its not a bad laptop actually if you are looking for something cheap.

I just got myself a Toshiba laptop from Best Buy. I paid 1500 for it and got about 300 in rebates. Its a great machine and not overly $$$$

you never heard of amd.......hmmm it's not bad for a inexpensive laptop, but for lots of work i would go with a penteium...

I would avoid Pentium-4 on a laptop if at all possible because it really kills the battery. If you want to go the intel route... try to go Centrino.

I like AMD ATHALON..ACtually my home desktop is an Athalon. I had a pent 4 and a pent 3 before and I had nothing but misery with them. The laptop is for someone I work with.
