ladies.....does anyone have any suggestions on what catering hall allows only wedding ceremonies. I already booked my reception hall and i don't want my wedding ceremony there due to many reasons (i.e time limit). I checked out and called soooooooooo many places and NOT one will let me have only the wedding ceremony there. I might as well cancel my wedding then
p.s i can't have it at a church due to different religious beliefs...and i did like how the temple looked from the inside. So i'm stuck having it in a hall. I prefer it outdoors, but also want back up indoor accommodations just incase it rains.

Re: why is this so difficult???
I never heard of only having a ceremony at a hall. And since you’re getting married in June which is peak wedding season, I’m really not sure you will be able to find a hall that will only accommodate a ceremony.
Perhaps there is another Synagogue you can look into?

Re: why is this so difficult???
Well, I was the only wedding at my reception place (Timber Point Mansion), so there was no time limit. There was an outside area, where we had the ceremony, and inside in case of rain. It probably wouldn't financially make sense for a reception hall to rent it out just for the cost of a ceremony, since they wouldn't be able to accomodate another wedding there...

No catering hall is going to let you use the premises just for a ceremony... but you could look into having it in a location that's open to the public...Brooklyn Botanical Gardens (they have time restrictions, only in the morning I think), museums, gardens, beaches, parks, lighthouses, docks, I've heard of people having the ceremony at Grand Central Station...I even read something about a couple taking thier vows at McDonald's because that's where they met...,don't panic you'll find the perfect place
where did you and your fh meet? is there any place that holds special meaning to either of you?

Are you blockinig off rooms at a hotel?? Maybe they will let you use one of their rooms, or outside. Not the best, I know, but you could probably decorate it and make it look great! Denise

Did you try the Historical chapel? It isn't affilliated with any religion, it is pretty much a private ceremony venue.

Re: why is this so difficult???
Why DON'T YOU CONTACT ONE OF THE HOTELS NEAR YOUR RECEPTION ARE. They RENT OUT THE BANQUET ROOMS AND THEY WILL SET IT UP WITH AN ISLE, SEATS AN ALTER THE ROOMS COST DIFFERENT AMTS. The SMALLER THE ROOM THE CHEAPER IT IS THE LARGER THE ROOM THE MORE IT IS. My SISTER DID THAT ALMOST 2 YEARS AGO SHE WANTED TO HAVE HER CEREMONY ON THE BEACH BUT DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO IF THE WEATHER WAS BAD SO SHE SPOKE TO THE HUNTINGTON HILTON SHE GAVE THEM A $100 DEPOSIT THE ROOM SHE PICKED OUT WOULD ACCOMMODATE 150 PEOPLE IT COST $350 TOTAL. If SHE DIDN'T USE IT SHE LOST HER $100 DEP IF IT RAINED SHE WAS TO CALL THEM IN THE AM AND AFTER THE CEREMONY SHE HAD TO PAY THE REST. THE WEATHER WAS GREAT SO SHE DIDN'T NEED IT BUT SHE HAD PIECE OF MIND. HOPE THIS HELPS

Re: why is this so difficult???
Some friends of mine upstate rented a chapel on a private school campus for their ceremony. It was non-denominational. I think I remember hearing CW Post has one...

As far as I know, the Planting Fields in Oyster Bay can also do a ceremony only in Coe Hall. It's beautiful.
