How come when we were in junior high and getting 'the talk' that they drilled into our head that JUST ONE TIME can get you pregnant, but now that we are trying, so many of us are having trouble conceiving?
And how come DH doesn't seem to understand why I get upset when I get my period? I mean, I'm not hysterical about it, just a little weepy, but he just doesn't get it.
Not really looking for answers, just wanted to vent.
Feel free to share your vents as well....
Thanks.

Re: Why is this so hard?
It took my DH over a year to get my AF hysterics! I don't know why it is so hard...it S U C K S! Sometimes I can't even come over to the TTC board when people announce they are preggo or come back to the TTC board to announce that they found out they were having a boy or a girl because it is just too painful for me. I look back on my catholic school sex education and laugh hysterical...DAMN were we misinformed or what?? Vent to me any day you need honey, I understand your fustration and your pain!

Re: Why is this so hard?
Oh my - I ask that question ALL the time - I can't believe how hard it is when you really want it! It truly feels like I have a MC every month, thats how disappointed I feel. I have a son, and he was an 'accident' - I look back now and think how could he have been an accident, its so hard to get pregnant!

Re: Why is this so hard?
I know exactly how you feel! DH and I just don't understand why things haven't worked yet. We're using the OPK so we're BD'ing at the right time, but no luck yet. It's extremely upsetting for me (and DH doesn't understand why) when AF shows up and we have to go through another month of trying. AF is due for me at the end of next week, and I don't feel even a hint of being PG. I know some women don't have any symptoms, but I'm trying not to get my hopes up. It's pretty hard not to though..... Don't worry; when the time is right, we'll all be blessed with a little one

Re: Why is this so hard?
Lauren - i am RIGHT THERE with you
I keep telling myself it will happen when the time is right
My DH doesn't understand either and I think it's because its not HIM who is getting his period or checking for signs of pregnancy etc...

Re: Why is this so hard?
I understand you. I feel exactly the same. I thought that everything was going to be easier... this is going to be our 4 month trying and, although, I don't wan to worry a lot, it is difficult not to do it.
Sometimes I get so frustrated that I don't want to cahrt my temperature anymore or I don't want to see the OKP. I just hope that this waiting time is for a reason, but I would like to be sure that one day I am going to have a baby.

Re: Why is this so hard?
To top it off I found out I had a short LP (9 days). So I may try taking B-6 and/or Vitex to fix that. I don't know if my cycle is like that all the time, since this is first time charting, but I'd like to nip it in the bud. Better luck this month.

Re: Why is this so hard?
god, i KNOW!!!...it's like, i spent 30 years trying so hard NOT to get pregnant and i just always assumed i would get pg on my honeymoon....what a disappointment!
i went to catholic school too, and DAMN, those nuns made it sound like you could get pg by sharing your frickin' pencil with a boy!!!....
and all of a sudden, it seems like the WHOLE WORLD is pg.....i went to the mall one day last week (i rarely have off of work during the week but this was some special day)...and let me tell you - during the week, the mall is just SWARMING with young mothers with little babies - any many of them have TWO....and the worst part about it is:
they ALL look younger than me!!!
sorry, i had to vent also!!!......

Re: Why is this so hard?
I know how you feel. I feel the same thing. Yes, you spend all that time growing up, NOT to get pregnant, and now when we try, it is so hard. We have been trying for a year and 6 months, and there is NOTHING wrong physically with me, or hubby, and every time I get my period, I cry and say why??

Re: Why is this so hard?
There are PG women EVERYWHERE! Maybe I just notice more now because I want to be one of them. It also doesn't help that right now I know 11 PG women...my cousin's wife and the rest are good friends of mine. There were 7 PG women at my wedding! Plus I know 2 people who just gave birth within the last 2 weeks...(one of them even stole my girls name, which I'm not too happy about) LOL I too thought we'd get PG on the honeymoon...crossing our fingers and praying that this month will be the month...for us and all of you ladies

Re: Why is this so hard?
We're in the same boat. We've been trying for 5 months...using ovulation kits...Last month I got AF for 1 day (I usually get it 6-7) We thought we might be, but didn't test -- didn't want to be disappointed. We thought we'd wait until this AF. I was sick and the DR. took blood Thursday to check for pregnancy....Negative!!! We were both so disappointed!
Wishing you lots of luck!
Baby dust for us all!

Re: Why is this so hard?
We have been trying over a year now. Everyone around me is pregnant, my cousin 2 close friends, another friend is pregant. Now today at work I get a call from a client and he says, we jut found out we are pregnant (definetly an opps!) and then a different client says his wife is 6months pregnant....everywhere I turn there is a pregnant woman!
Someday it will be me

It's so true. But the truth is the window of time is so small for you to actually conceive and as you get older the window closes faster.
When your 18 you body drops more eggs then when you are 27-35. The odd increasingly deminish as you get older and older. As you know more woman today chose to wait before they get pregnant.

Re: Why is this so hard?
I hear ya..I wish I knew in high school how hard it was to get pregnant!!! I would have been alittle slut! heheheheh just kidding!!! But ya know what..my sister had four miscarriages..I had my hard times..so have many many people on here..but we eventually find where we need to be and then it all makes sense. When my sister was suffering, we didnt udnerstand why she went through it. But now her boy, my godson is about to be a year old and she is pregnant with twins..so it all worked out. As for myself..we tried for a few months ad I got fed up..I didnt have the drive to go through IVF or anything..its not for me..I looked into adoption. My husband had a harder time with it than me..until he saw our boys..then it all made sense..we are meant to adopt! Maybe we will still have biological children..but we found what all this was for. My point is..all though things seem difficult..we have no idea what is waiting for us..so many amazing things..so hang in there!!! Your turn will come and it will be worth all of this hard times. I just know it!!!!

Re: Why is this so hard?
It is very painful when you try so hard to do everything right. (i.e. - get established with your career and relationship first), then try and try to have a baby to no avail. Very frustrating. Makes me regretful that I didn't just get pregnant in my early 20's.
