Why oh why is this so DIFFICULT!?!?

Why oh why is this so DIFFICULT!?!?

I have started the quest for invitations. I know I have time, but I knew exactly what I wanted, and it was going to cost over $1000 for what I wanted. I told FH and he blew a gasket, so those are out the window.

SO, now I am on the quest...and I have found one invitation I liked, then saw another thing one I liked and then saw someone else's I liked, so now I want something TOTALLY different. I am at a loss!!!

Where can I find reasonalby priced invites?!?! I want a tea length (aka oblong) invite, layered. In general I want something different, something unique.

TIA!!

I can TOTALLY relate, hence why I made my own (sort of).

Encore makes beautiful white teal lenght...try these:

RSVP Etc.

Uptown Downtown Shopping

More (custom and unique):

My Personal Artist

3 Paper Dolls

Thank you!!! I am loving these!!

As for the suggestion of Party City, I was there to look at baby shower invites for my MOH, need to get back and look at the wedding ones. Thanks!

Jill honey, anytime! I have a super long list of sites...did you look at the Specialty Bios? The Invitation Bio has tons of sites listed...

What are you looking for in particular? I think 3 Paper Dolls is the best...one of my co-workers went to school with the girls and was raving about them and their company after receiving the invite to another friend's wedding at Glen Island Harbour Club. She then said that they were having this 'amazing' videographer and I only know of Jerry as 'amazing' and sure enough, it was him; he has shot almost all their weddings...plus, they're recommended on his site. Small world, huh? And their prices are phenomenal because they're starting out.

I have not gotten to 3 Paper Dolls yet. Still on the Uptown Downtown one. I found ones, personalized them, an dthey came out to $800. Ugh!

I initially wanted pocketoflds, but they ended up being TOO much to get exactly what I wanted. Though I am crafty, I am TOO OCD to do them myself. There are 3 invites I have seen that I REALLY like a lot, but are different in style.

#1 is by Encore, the pics online do it NO justice, b/c it's a paper that is sparkley that is not visible in the online pics.

#2 is Golden Filigree by the Carlson Craft Something Different line.

#3 (just found) is Oasis, I love the elegance of it. Going to try and post a pic of it.

The first one is the Golden Filigree

Second one is the silver one, that you can't really see the sparkley effect in the paper here.

I know the paper by Encore that you are talking about and I LOVE it! I wanted to use that but the blue was too close to Tiffany blue and the dark was too dark...and white was gorgeous and in hindsight I should have gone with that but I wanted blue paper.

OMG Jill - the one you posted is insanely gorgeous. Really and truly. The ribbon, the scroll, the color...I have never seen anything like it. I love it!

ETA: I saw all 3 (and I have seen the Encore in person) and I love, love, love #3. Wouldn't mind helping you put those together at all!

I love #3 too, but think I would go w/o the ribbon (it's extra $$). It's funny b/c I went to an invite store by my job and picked this one about 3 mos ago, then I went back in w/ my MOH last week and asked to see the ones they had written down (which was about 6 diff invites) and THAT was the only one I still loved. And it's reasonably priced!!

But I LOVE the 'scroll-ness' of the Oasis (#1) one. And I don't care that it's green, and my color is Aqua (Tifaany Blue). I thought I wanted the invites to have at least some aqua in it, but that is what's causing a lot of my headaches!! I want to get a sample of the Oasis one. Also need to find out if they come assembled, if not...Sasha...YOU'RE HIRED!!

excited about being 'hired'...possibly.

How much more is the ribbon? Does it still come with the holes even if you don't buy the ribbon? Can we buy the ribbon ourselves (wholesale, garment district, etc.) and put it together? I think you have to get the ribbon...it makes the invitation pop. But then again, I am hugely biased since I had ribbon invites.

OK, I love how I'm talking 'we'...I feel sorta like I'm getting married again...minus the stress. So excited for you!

And here's a for the stress!

ETA: Green, Tiffany blue, who cares? It's a gorgeous invite! Besides, 'true' Tiffany blue is patented and therefore cannot be used.

I was stuck on blue invites forever and ended up with white... I'm no help!

I thought you were going with the pocket fold invites????

Once I saw yours I fell in love... And I love the tea length too!!!!

Soooo... I'm doing tea length pocket fold.. I think anyway!!

I'm going to order the tea length ones, and then order the pocket folds seperately and mount them.. I hope it works!!!!

I don’t recall the amount of the ribbon, but it actually does not go thru holes, this is on invite #3, the Encore one. It’s glued on by the company. I agree it does make the invite pop. Will have to get a sample of it! I did order a sample of #1 Oasis. I SO love that one!

OK, I love how I'm talking 'we'...I feel sorta like I'm getting married again...minus the stress. So excited for you! Thank you in advance for any and ALL help you provide me!!!

And here's a for the stress! I am good now, but thank you, I am sure there will be MANY days ahead that I will need this, and a few drinks!

ETA: Green, Tiffany blue, who cares? It's a gorgeous invite! Besides, 'true' Tiffany blue is patented and therefore cannot be used. I have accepted that I need to LOVE the invite, regardless of color!

I thought you were going with the pocket fold invites???? I have not totally counted them out, but to get them exactly how I want (w/o settling) would be TOO much $$, Sebasitan said NO when I mentioned the cost!

Soooo... I'm doing tea length pocket fold.. I think anyway!! I initally loved the square ones, but I nwo LOVE the 4x9 ones

I'm going to order the tea length ones, and then order the pocket folds seperately and mount them.. I hope it works!!!! Though I have the time to make them myself, I just am too obsesive about perfection, that I don't know how they'll turn out!! I am afraid it would take me forever!!

Maybe we should have an invitation assembly party!!!

i got mine from Kathy from follow your heart. I love them!!! She has tons of books that you can look through and since she works out of her house she can give you a discount. My invites with out purchasing organza ribbon were initially $1,000 but now they are only costing arount $700. She is a vendor on here. I definitely recommend her. She also does calligraphy.

I had a problem finding an invite I liked as well for a reasonable price. So I had a girl named Maryellen design my dream invite for a literal fraction of the cost!

If you drop her an email with some attachments of what you like she will put together a sample package for you free.

I pimp her out all over but she really helped me.

I second Maryellen! Because of Ladybug, I am getting amazing Jean M invitations for more than half the price!
