Why the big wedding

I just wanted to know what made everyone decide on a big wedding. For me I had my wedding plan since I was a little girl. Im obsessed with planning things but now that it is my own Im a bit stressed out. Whenever I was planning a party for someone or helping with a wedding of someone in my family I always told them. Don't sweat the small things that go wrong because people don't know how it really was supposed be anyway. But now that is it my wedding I am sure not saying the same thing.

But yes so I had my wedding planned since I was a little girl and finally found someone to make it complete.

We wanted all the people in our lives that are important around us-and the only way to do that was to do it big.
And truthfully-its something we both want

I've always wanted a nice wedding. When I was little I wanted to get married in Disney World. When FH proposed I wanted to just get married. I didn't care if it was big or small I justed wanted to do it. However FH knew that I always wanted something like what I am having and he told me we'll try to do a nice wedding because you only get married once and you should have what you always dreamed of. (Not in Disney World but that ok)

i never wanted it to be this big but i'm just so anal and want things the way i want. so somehow it became big but it's worth it b/c i'm having the wedding of my dreams

I never really dreamed for the wedding to ever be this big (over 300), but our families are huge so we have no choice!! I can't wait for them to share it with us!

Before I got engaged, we were discussing having a Las Vegas wedding and inviting a few friends...When he proposed, it was a whole different ball game!! I wanted everyone to be a part of my big day and I wanted to make it as elaborate as I can!!

we arent really having a big wedding, orginally we wanted around 100 but now it looks like more like 150!!!

I think we are having a medium sized wedding...it turned out that way b/c we wanted everyone that is close to us to be there. I just always wanted something that was completely reflective of us, and I am pretty sure that is what we are going to have!

since i was little i hae always dreamed about a big wedding. When my RH hall opened like 20 years ago (its in my neighborhood) i would always tell my mom im going to get married there one day and now i am - its really cool!

actually, I never really thought about weddings AT ALL until I met my FH.

I would have been just as happy with a small destination wedding, but he has a HUGE family and we want everyone to be there... so we decided on a big new york wedding

Basically the same situation with us, except our wedding isn't that big. We're inviting about 115.

It kind of just happened......you get so engrossed in the whole process so easily. It is so easy to become obssessed with wedding planning. FH and I already own a house, so we don't really have to worry about a down payment on a house or paying rent, so we knew that we were not finacially pressed to have a small, inexpensive wedding. That has been good, that we don't have to go too crazy over expenses. I know that if we did not already own our home and we would not be going to the fullest extent that we are going.

Hey that is still a big wedding. Im having about 150 to 200 and I think that is big.

This is what we wanted to....it was so much fun and to think back and think about all of the people in our lives who were there is amazing...it was a great day!

Our wedding is pretty small (about 60 people) so I feel like we are doing a scaled down version of the 'big wedding'. All the bells and whistles but with less people

I always dreamed of having a big, beautiful wedding.
When my Mom died, I decided that that was stupid b/c the joy of it would somehow be diminished. When FH proposed, we decided to have a small destination wedding. 10 people, tops. However, people in both our families had a problem with that b/c elderly people (like my grandmother who is 93) might have a problem getting there...and it would be selfish not to let them be a part of this occasion.
SO, we started planning a small wedding....the details got very elaborate, and now we are having a 100 person wedding with all the trimmings. That's how it happened....now I'm kind of glad b/c I think my Mom would have felt terrible if she knew that her death prevented me from havign the wedding I always dreamed of. She would DEFINITELY have wanted me to have a nice wedding. She won't be there in person....but she will in her own special way

Once we started compiling the invite list, we realized it was going to be a bit bigger than we had anticipated. The most important thing for us is to have the people we want there to help us celebrate our day

i always thought i'd get married in italy.. when i met FH a discussion about weddings came up and we both said that we wanted to get married in italy by the beach..
well we got engaged in italy and the wedding is here by the beach....once reality set in.. it would have been too much.. i would have had to have two weddings in both places and been poor after that!! the invite list was too big and then some of our close family and friends wouldnt be able to make it overseas so we are having it here... and i cant WAIT!
