Why would you even ask me this?

Why would you even ask me this?

FMIL and FH's godmothers are hosting a Pre-Wedding Luncheon for us here in Chicago for the people who can't come to NY. I got this email from a friend who just started selling Mary Kay.

Stephanie -

Do you think I could do a pampering session at your luncheon for all the ladies? I wouldn't be promoting sales but they could follow-up later if interested in anything. We do a lot for the bridal market.

Should I check with the hostesses of your event?

W T F ??? I'm just going to tell her that I don't think FMIL would go for that.

Any other suggestions?

Wow I can't believe she would even have the nerve to ask you that. I would say the FMIL has already planned the lunch and you don't want to interfere with her plans.

Good Luck!

I think it is too. I can't believe the audacity of people sometimes.

I would go with the traditional, 'Thank you for the offer'. Especially if she is a close friend, that way she feels appreciated and you are still letting her know that it is not happening

i would say thanks for offering but it is a coed even and it would be awkward to seperate out people for a presentation

She sounds pushy ('Should I contact the host?')
ugh - no way.

I always feel pressure to order things from people selling things (especially if they are friends or friends of friends)

You are right in saying it would be uncomfortable. Don't you dare feel bad about saying no. She is being too pushy

I think you should just tell her no, it is not something that you would not;d want to have at the luncheon. Don't use your FMIL as a scapegoat. She may call and it may be fine with her. At that point you would just be stuck. So, I think you should just be honest with her.
