Why you need HM insurance!

Why you need HM insurance!

I am so glad I paid $400 for my HM insurance -- we are going to Thailand and right now the main international airport in Thailand is on lockdown because it has been stormed by protestors. The US is starting to issue travel warnings now (not like the plane can even land there...). Just in case this holds up for another 2.5 months, we are going to have some serious HM troubles.

Wow! I hope everything works out for you! I never buy the insurance, i just think 'oh well if i break my leg, i'd rather be resting on the beach anyway rather than my own bedroom!', but good call on your part

its definitely a good idea to get it. Its not just about what happens to you but if you cant go to that particular location. This happened to somebody i knew. They were supposed to go to Jamaica and right before their trip there were huge riots in Jamaica and lots of tourists were being attacked. Obviously they werent letting people in at that time. So instead of them losing money or going through alot of trouble, the travel agent just booked them in the bahamas i think and took care of everything and they still were able to leave at the same time.

It was a smart thing to do -- even though we can cancel our hotels up to 24 hours in advance, we would still be out for airfare and advance payments we made for day tours and such.

this is exactly why I always purchase travel protection, its always better to be safe than sorry. Thank God you did the smart thing. I hope everything works out for you....

I hope everything is ok by then. Trip insurance is important, especially for an exotic place. One of my best friends from college is supposed to go on her delayed honeymoon to Mumbai in Jan. I hope she doesn't go. To many bad things have happened there lately.
