I still think it is Mrs. if they were married when their husband passed. I've written my grandma's address Mrs. Mary C for years - hope it's right!

You see I disagree...if her husband passed away, i think she should be addressed as Mrs. First and Last Name...

Re: Widow women - Invite ??????
If, G*d forbid, I was ever widowed I would want to still be Mrs. but with my first name. I think being Mrs his first name would be too sad.

Re: Widow women - Invite ??????
According to etiquette.. 'When addressing an invitation to a widow, send it using her husband's name, such as Mrs. George Cunningham. The inside envelope would be addressed to your guest, such as Aunt Wilma. If your elderly guest does not have a title, such as 'aunt,' you can address the inner envelope to Mrs. Cunningham.'
I have found this same answer on a few different sites.

I believe this is proper etiquette, this is how the mail is always addressed to my mother who is a Widow.
***Here I looked it up... Both ways are ok.
Single woman - widow Either Mrs. (full name) Or Mrs. (deceased husband’s full name)
