WildRose Video - BAD Experience - Don´t pay up front!!!

Hi guys. First of all Congratulations to all of you and happy wedding planning. I got married April 2010 and unfortunately I never got to do a full review because I live overseas and doné always have internet access. However, I felt that I must log on and comment about my current situation with WildRose. As I already mentioned, I got married almost two years ago. However, I still don´t have my video!! Part of the delay at the beginning was my fault because I was traveling and not always available and so could send information in regularly. However, getting them to keep in touch with me has been like pulling teeth. Until the end of lat year I just chalked it up to a problem because I´m overseas. However, towards the end of last year I confirmed that they had all the information that they need and told them that my mom was coming to visit me in December. (The first time she´s able to visit me since I moved here 6 years ago). They assured me that they would have it ready so that she could bring it here and we could watch it together. This was something that was very important to me because I don´t get to see my mother much maybe once a year. This was a special treat for me to be able to view the video with her. Unfortunatley my mother had an issue and had to travel later on. I emailed them and told them that she would now be flyig end of january begininning of februrary. I also tried calling (long distance) but no answer. I finally gave my mother the phone number and had her start getting after them. long story short (although I guess not that short - sorry) they promised my mother they would have the video before she came. They then FINALLY answered one of my emails confirming that they had been in touch with my mom and not to worry that she would be brining the video with her. Here we are the day before she travels (although my mom told them she was traveling today.) and they, only after numerous calls from my mother, tell her that it will not be ready. I´m sorry but how dare they, after almost two years, and when they promised to have it ready in DECEMBER not have it ready by februrary!?!?!?! Now I not only don´t get my wedding video yet, but when I do get it I will not be able to watch it with my mom. What really bothers me is that they made me pay everything up front. Due to time contraints I had to go with them. They said that the reason that they ask for money up front is that they finish the videos quickly and sometimes the brides are unprofessional and even though the video is paid they don´t pick it up right away. I had seen a complaint about someone not getting their video on time and they made it seem like that was only because the person hadn´t paid!! Now I see what the reality is. They collect the money up front and then don´t care about the rest. Why should they be bothered paying attention to me when I already paid them everything?!?

Aside from that they promisd me so much on the original meeting and as time went on every step of the way I had to remind them to honor things. Its a husband and wife team and so they kinda blame each other. I bought into it because eventually they did honor things (well at least verybally, i have to see wha´t´s actually on the video) and actually recommended them to people on a few occasions. I just didn´t realize how unprofesional they are when it comes to holding up their end of the deal. I really hope that whenever I finally do get to see my wedding video they include eveything they promised. I´ll let you guys know if they don´t.

If anyone has any questions please let me know. I know back in 09 vendors would post negative comments about other vendors but this isn´t like that. You can check my history of my postings while I was planning and if you want i can even forward emails. i should still have them.

Sorry for the negativity but I think its good to have all the information you need in case anyone was considering them. Have a great day everyone.

Sorry you had a bad experience. I used Wild Rose and had a completely different experience. I'm a little confused as to why you paid everything up front. And why you made verbal agreements with them and didnt get some things in writing?

Hope it works out

Re: WildRose Video - BAD Experience - Don´t pay up front!!!

Thanks for your well wishes.

The situation was that I was having a hard time booking things over the phone from Ecuador because some places don´t want to give you quotes over the phone. So basically I got to NY three weeks before the wedding and had to book video, flowers, DJ and some other last minute things.

I paid up front because they said that is the way they work. They told me that they always require full payment by the day of the wedding. Since I didn´t have much time to find someone else and I had heard one or two people had used them I took a chance. That was a mistake. I´m guessing in your case they didn´t make you do it. Sadly it seems that they took advantage of the fact that I was desparate and didn´t have much option.

Although I had things in writing, since I was overseas I couldn´t go to them with the papers. I don´t know where their copies were. But like I said eventually they worked things out between them and at least verbally agreed to honor everything. Whenever I get the video I´ll see if they did.

Up until the end of last year I just chalked up all the little issues to the hassles of doing things from another country. I guess my biggest mistake was telling them that I was overseas. I guess that way they didn´t feel the pressure of finishing my video since they knew I couldn´t just show up at their door or call them a million times a day to hassle them. So even though they promised it would be done by December and then by end of January and then by yesterday, they didn´t feel the pressure to honor it.

Its too bad that they would have that kind of attitude with me. Especially since from what you said, I can see they´re not that way with everyone. And they seemed so nice and responsible when we first met and in our first exchanges.

For the sake of any other brides that booked with them, I hope that this is just something they neglected because I couldn´t keep after them. But I would definitely suggest to keep checking in during the process to make sure they´re making progress.

Happy Planning everyone.
