Will I be able to make my cocktail hour?

My church is at 3pm and its just a ceremony, no mass, and reception cocktail hour starts at 6pm. What do you think w/ pictures and everything?

I sure hope you can because I am on almost the same schedule and I want to make my CH too!!

My ceremony begins at 2:30 but it's a full mass so it'll be over by 3:30, CH begins @ 6:30. That gives me 3 hours -- you have approximately 2.5hrs. It depends how far you reception site is from the church (mine is approx 45 mins away), where you are doing your pics, and how fast you move through the receiving line if you are having one.

If you are doing your pics at the reception site and it is not too far from the church, I think you have plenty of time.

I would think 3 hours should be plenty especially if you get the photographer to do any separate stuff before the ceremony.

I wish we had that option but we are getting married where our reception is so we have no break so we are doing all our pictures ahead of time so that we can be at our cocktail hour and so we don't have to squeeze pics in to an hour.

My church is 10 minutes from the reception so its close. Does everyone have a receiving line? I am taking pics at Westbury Manor.

I think you will have penty of time!
My MOH had her wedding at 3, full mass, CH began at 600 and she made it to the whole thing. Travel time was about 10 minutes!

You dont have to have a recieving line but I think its tradition because I know at least in my case, there will be a few people at the church who werent invited to the reception (neighbors who I have known forever but we are not really close with but they have already asked me if they can go to the ceremony)

I think you'll make it with no problems...even with a receiving line.

I think you have plenty, bordering on too much time.

My brother had a large gap (I think ceremony was at 3, cocktail hour started at 7)--we had to invent things to do & take pictures of! My mom had people back to the house at the gap.
