Now that we have the church booked, I told FH that we need to sit down and make a SERIOUS guest list.
I tried...I REALLY tried...to split it into A, B and C lists.
I'm already at 80 people on the A list (but that's with assuming that each single person I'm inviting will bring a guest). And so far I've only included FH's immediate family and the best man.
He's gonna kill me.....

Not sure if you would consider doing this....but to keep our numbers down we are not inviting every person with guest.....we said that if the person has a significant other for a significant amount of time then we are inviting them.....other than that we are not putting plus 1 just to let them bring someone.

You know..that's not a bad idea. There's about 10 senior citizens that I know from church who are all widows/widowers and I'm 99.9% sure that they wouldn't bring a guest to the wedding anyway since they go to alot of functions alone -- we all just sit together.
I also have a handful of people on my list whose invite is mainly a courtesy invite, but they will more than likely say no.
And finally, it is Labor Day weekend, so some people may not be around.
Do you think I'm talking myself into believing that my guest list won't get out of hand? LOL

My FH and I are both from BIG italian families and its sooo frustrating. We decided that if they dont have a significant person in their life they dont get a guest invite, also we told our parents that they get a table for anyone we decided didnt get an invite and if they go over that table they have to pay for it. We are currently at 250!!!

We're trying to keep it under 100.
Maybe I'll have to put the co-workers all on the B list.

My dad made a good point when it came down to friends and co workers....If you can call them up at three in the morning and they will help you out of whatever jam you are in then they should be invited....same goes for family! if you only see them at weddings and funerals you dont need to invite them!

350 is a lot.......We have about 215 and are trying to get it down. We will have to pay for 175, but we hope not to go that much over that.

So I got it down to 75 taking out all the '+ guest' for people who were seeing anybody.
