will i regret no video

We never even CONSIDERED video. I dont know why. We just didnt' want the commotion. Of course now - 45 days to go - and second guessing. One of our best friends is a wedding videographer, so he'll be videoing it - but not with all the major equipment or anything - what do you guys think?

I hate video cameras in my face but decided to get one because I was afraid I would regret it.

Almost every single bride I have spoken to tells me that you miss so much on your wedding day that you will be so happy you spent the $$ on the video.

Im still going to find the camera annoying (despite having the sweetest videographer in the world) but i will suck it up.

I was anti-video but then decided to go for it, and I'm very glad I did. The camera catches things you miss and its so great to re-live the day while watching it!

in the VERY beginning I was anti-video...b/c of my memories of the big camera and the rolling ladder and bright spotlight...

when I mentioned this to a friend...she told me to look a little...and that I would appreciate having so many people captured on tape that won't always be there...

from my own experience...while we were lined up for the ceremony...I was peeking out the window trying to see my BMs go down the aisle...all I could say is that I can't wait to see the video...

then being lined up for the reception...the same thing...but it was a weird experience b/c we were behind closed doors and everytime the doors would open to let another couple go out...there would be this big roar...and the doors would close and you couldn't hear anymore...I wanted to see that excitement that was going on...

thats when my sister decided to get a video for her wedding...

I say get video, you miss so much, watching our video makes me and hubby and mommie cry. It was a magical which we get to re-live over and over again.

i say get it, i hear you miss your whole day taking pics, greeting people etc.
and i hear the day goes by soooo fast.

wild rose has such a low light i hear you dont even know he's there!

I'm with Yabbobay on this. I was very close to not having it. I haven't gotten my video yet. But like she said, you miss everyone walking down the isle before you, the introductions and just so many other times during the night. I CANNOT wait to get mine.

Besides your picture and your mind, this is the only vivid memory you will have of your day. I say get the video, I'm sure you'll find someone not booked due to cancelation, etc. . .

Get the video, you miss so much on your wedding day. I still look at mine and it's over a year later. My husband look at it also, not quite as often as I do

This was the one thing that I had to have even though my FH wasn't crazy about it. I love watching wedding videos, there are always so many funny things that happen that the camera catches. After taking my FH to the videographer he was happy with the decision to get one. Besides, nowadays you could find ones that are not obtrusive and they don't use those big lights. I think you should definitely have one.

we also were not considering video at first, but now we're thinking about it. any price estimates for video packages from different companies?? thanks ladies!

i never considered it either, but then decided to get it. A) I think it would be great to show our kids someday, and B) there are many older relatives who I would like to have on video who might not be around many more days, and C) my grandma can't come so I can show it to her afterwards. I would say go for it if you can afford it.

We opted to forego the video and I kinda regret not having it (although I don't regret having the $1500 plus in my pocket ) What I really wish I had was the ceremony. I don't care so much about the reception, but so many guest told us later how wonderful the priest was, and how it was one of the best homilies they had ever heard. If you can afford it, I'd say go for it. Or at least talk to your friend about capturing a few special things. But be warned, the friend is likely to get caught up in having fun and being a guest, which they are, so don't rely on them or expect that they'll catch what you want.

okay - clearly my decision has been made. who do you suggest (on such short notice) and whose name can I use for some extra 'pull'?

I was anti-video too, until I saw a couple of videos and was so moved by it.

If you can find a videographer and your budget allows, then do it!

I think you will. It is the only way you can hear your vows again, experience the day in live-action.

jenny...get a video!!!! it is something you will treasure forever....if necessary cut your budget elsewhere, but i think the video is so important

definitely get it---it will capture beautiful memories-- i wish i taped my engagement party b/c that flew by sooooo fast---i don't remember everything from that:(.......try wild rose/bellarino---good luck!

I also was second guesing video intill I went to a bridal party I saw a vendor for video and my fiance wanted it so I made an appointment and met up with Hal from T&T Video he was very reasonable with the price for the amount of coverage and parent tapes and we need 3 parent copies and we are getting a DVD. he was still less than half of the video places I went to see I booked him for my wedding next July 4th. and Hal was a great guy and willing to work alot with us you should check him out if you are considering a video of your wedding.
