My ceremony can't start until sundown which is 8pm...so the reception won't end until 1:30am....do you think people will stay till the end? It's a Saturday night.
I would hate for people to start leaving early cause it is so late. I might be able to get the cantor to let us start a little earlier.

That's why we are getting married on a sunday. Depending on how far away I lived I might leave early.

I don't think you can predict something like this. If your party is moving, people aren't going to be concerned with time...

FH and I are both Jewish...but not religious. We are having cantor marry us on a Saturday afternoon (ceremony starts at 11:30). My parents and his parents are ok with that.
Edited to say: I didn't even answer your question. I think people that are close to you will definately stay...but maybe friends of parents or FH's parents or older folks might not.

That's a tough one...I've been to a few New Year's Weddings, and a lot of people left before midnight...
I'm sure all of your friends will stay until the end, but the older people will probably leave earlier.
Regardless, you'll have a fantastic wedding

Re: Will people stay till the end of the Reception?
honestly I can say that there will always be people who leave early!
I have been to weddings in the afternoon where people left early because of travel. I think you have a better chance on a saturday night of people sticking around though. I would say that probably a good number of young people will stay and your close family, and honestly anyone who is having a good time will be there. My brothers wedding didnt end until 1 am and honestly we had to kick people out. My FBIL wedding didnt end until 1230 and then they extended it until 130 because everyone was having such a good time!
Ours ends at midnight and we are anticipating extending it because of past history!!

I think the older people and people who may have a long ride home will leave early. But close family and friends who love to party will be there til the end.

I would absolutely stay. I think it really depends on the 'age' of your wedding. If you are having a lot of younger people there, then they would def stay. I can see the older people wanting to get home or people who had hired babysitters.

My cocktail hour is starting at 8pm and reception ending at 1am. I definitely expect people to leave early...mostly older family members.
I do expect our friends to be there until the end...they will be ready to go out after that too!!

Half the wedding is FI and my friends...so the wedding will have lots of young people...I mean I would stay so I guess they will too.

I think everyone will STAY!! WE went to a wedding that was that late and they had to kick us all out.. Think if it starts at 8 then you have cocktail hour 9 then dinner 10 then dancing 1:30 is before you know it.. It'll be fine..

Re: Will people stay till the end of the Reception?
It's just that people who have to travel will leave and people will have a tougher time with babysitters if they return at 2:00 am or so.
Just a thought. Personally, I'd probably stay but I know some of the older guests and guests with small kids would leave.
