Will You Be My Bridesmaid?

Will You Be My Bridesmaid?

I was wondering if anyone has used an interesting or creative way to ask their friends/family to be bridesmaids?? My friend sent out miniature hangers with her color dresses with little bows and notes that said 'Please be my Bridesmaid'

I thought that was so cute! I was going to buy nice cards or something but that is kinda boring.

That is such a wonderful idea!

I will try to think of something creative like that!

Beth's story is very sweet. I work with one of the girls I asked. One day, I called up the internet, and found a site with the color dress I would like the girls to wear (Ruby). I told my friend I needed her opinion on something, then asked her to come look at my computer. I asked her what she thought of the color, then asked if she'd like to wear that color as my bridesmaid.

When I asked my sister-in-law (living down south) to be my matron of honor, I was just bursting with excitement to ask, but I was holding back because the planners were telling me to ask around Christmas for our Sept. wedding. Anyway, I kept her on the phone for nearly an hour (she has 2 little ones, one running around, the other teething), and we were getting ready to hang up, and I just couldn't wait anymore. She squealed with excitement! And the conversation took a whole new spin into another hour!

If my wedding is next November (1 year from Friday!!!), when do you think is a good time to ask them to be my bridesmaids??

I think it varies, depending on the company, but I do recall seeing some that offered you one or the other.

I think the best way to do it, is just go with when you feel ready to ask. One of the wedding planner books or websites (I forget which - maybe both) said I should ask around Christmas for my Sept. 2001 wedding, but I just couldn't hold back.

Do what feels right for you. I don't think it's ever really too early if you're just about one year to the day from your wedding. Think of it this way, the earlier you ask, the more time you have for the girls to find and agree on dresses, if they are all going to wear the same style.

Yeah..All of the girls are pretty much assuming they are in my bridal party anyway. I was in 1 girl's wedding in Sept. and another in May..One is my sister, the other is my fiance's sister and there is my best friend from college.

I will probably ask around Thanksgiving.
