will you be providing any sort of activity kits for the children at your wedding (like coloring books or whatnot)?

someone else posted something about coloring books. i think that's a great idea and a great way to keep the kids occupied... yet i feel like with all that's going on, the excitement of the room will keep the kids from staying seated...
so i'm still unsure...

i'm in exactly the same boat ... if anything, i print out my own coloring pages (and mazes and the like) and giving them crayons (probably ones i steal ... err, i mean 'borrow' from Chili's or something) ... but I just don't know if it's worth the hassle in the first place!

I think for the most part kids will be entertained between eating and dancing and everything, but I am going to print out some coloring books for them.
Also, the FGs gifts are disney digital camcorders, so I bet they'll have a blast with those!

haha, yea. and another thing i fear is that the kids will take the crayons and start drawing on the table linens and walls and chairs... you never know with these kids....

awww.. i'm sorry. those are just the things that i think about when i think of kids.... if you know that most of the kids that are attending your wedding are at a more mature age, then i wouldn't worry.
i only worry cause my RH is providing the linens and i rather not have to pay more than i already am...

Exactly why I won't be giving them crayons.
I think it depends on the age of the kids. If they are around 8- up, I think they'll be entertained enough with the food and music to not need any extra activities.
If you do decide to get something for them anyway, your best bet is to get something that won't make too much of a mess like foam activities where the pieces are self adhesive.

Nope. In my family the kids are always out on the dance floor!!
The ones who stay at the table are the spoiled clingy ones who wouldn't make use of the activity anyway.

I am expecting on inviting only 4 children (between ages 6 and 13). I do not plan on making them anything special. I have gone to fancy dinners at country clubs with them, and they have always been well behaved and they all love to dance so I am sure they will be going nuts on the dance floor all afternoon long.

I am going to put some inexpensive games on the table - like playing cards, tic/tac/toe and Connect Four. Also their table will not be offered the same food. They are going to place a big oval serving dish with chicken fingers, burgers, fries and mozzarella sticks!!
