will you extend your wedding or not??? poll

im torn... our wedding is from 6:30-11:30. the extra hour costs $1200 plus pay the DJ... my fi said we should just end it at 11:30 and go back to the hotel and hang for a little while at the piano lounge they have- after wedding party. im fine but im afraid ill change my mind once im at the reception... what are you all thinking of doing?

I extended mine... It was going to cost me $1500 to extend it an extra hour and add the vienese hour So we did it. We felt we were paying so much $ for the wedding to begin with that the extra $2000 (total cost) was going to be worth it.

We also extended the DJ (not positive on the cost). Also Make sure your video and photo people know they normally stay until right after you cut the cake but since you are extending the wedding an hour the cake cutting and all that is going to be pushed back a little too.

Here are my thoughts:

1. I think us brides often forget that the party has to end sometime.

2. You can always decide at the wedding whether you want to extend it.

we extended it.... it was an extra 12pp for the vienese hour and the extra hour combo thingy..... well well worth it in our opinion! so its from 7-1 now.... sooooo excited!!!!

I would love to; but my guests would probably feel otherwise. My ceremony begins at 3:00 and the reception ends at 11:30. I think that is a long enough day for most.

1/2 an hour is not bad..but an hour i think is too much

I think five hours plus the ceremony is enough!! I want to go back to the hotel have enough energy left for other things! The day will be long enough for me!

I extended my CH for an extra half hour but I would not extend the entire reception. My entire reception runs from 6:30 to 11:30 also, when I asked about extending it they would do it for an hour are no charge to me at all, the photographers are there to the end, the video is there to the end, the CH would do it fo free, along with the dj but I still don't want to extend it. FH and I have to catch a plane the next day but I also don't want it too long where people get tooo tired. Like another post said the party has to end sometime.

I won't be extending...I really can't because I'm having a 12-5pm reception & there is a Sunday night wedding after mine...

BUT...I am thinking about having an 'after party' at the Inn at Fox Hollow for some of my family & guests. I read a bride's review and she said they were very accommodating to her.
