10/30/08) MINEOLA - The husband of a 29-year-old Bethpage special-education teacher found dead in North Hills Wednesday has confessed to choking her to death after the two had an altercation at their home Sunday morning, Nassau police said at a press conference Thursday morning.
Police said Bill Walsh came home early Sunday morning from a trip to Atlantic City and engaged in a verbal dispute with Leah Walsh. The dispute, possibly over his alleged infidelity with one or more women, escalated into a physical fight that ended when he choked her to death, police said.
Cops had been searching for Leah Walsh since Monday, when her abandoned car was found on the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway. Investigators say her front right tire was flat with no recognizable tire damage, indicating that the air had been let out of the tire manually.
Walsh’s body was found in a wooded area outside the North Hills Country Club by an employee of the club, police said. Bill Walsh dumped the body at the location at about 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, after he did laundry and went to McDonald’s, possibly to help establish an alibi for the murder.
After her body was recovered, Bill Walsh was arrested by homicide squad detectives and he later confessed, police said.

I dont understand...how do people do this kind of thing and think they can get away with it? Did he really think he would go on living the rest of his life and no one would ever supect him or put two and two together? Are people that dumb?
That is what I don't understand.
My guess is he didn't intentionally kill her. I think he got really angry with her, his anger took over and he beat her so badly that she did die. I don't think he meant to do it, not that it's an excuse, he's still guilty. After he accidentally killed her, he was scared and made this BS story to try to cover it up. Of course he's going to get caught, he didn't plan this out.
I think you are right on the money. It was a beating that got out of control.

I think ure right or at least this what I'm thinking as well...and it's probably why he ended up just confessing. They linked a similar story to this article where the guy killed his wife/gf out of anger, wasn't premeditated. he is serving 18 year to life in prison.
its scary to think how anger/rage can take someone to that level of unconrolled actions.
this is a very sad and upsetting story![]()
So are they saying he killed her at home and then drove her body to that setting?? DAMN And did they say if he had a history of being violent?
OMG this is just so sad...my heart goes out to her family and friends.

It wasn't that she was beaten so badly - and I don't think this was like 'released', but I heard that she had damage to her face from some animals that found her outside.
I'll leave it at that - its just so sad

ok, I didn't hear that part. I assumed that they couldn't identify her because she was beaten.
