Re: Williams-Sonoma Registry
I registered there originally but then changed my mind and registered at crate and barrel. I just found that certain basic items, like a $90 pepper mill, were too expensive for me to justify asking ppl to spend their $$ on, but that's just me and my crowd of folks. That said, if you want unique items, WS is great. Nice selection of le crueset (sp) and similar items, really great bakeware (cake molds, spatulas, aprons, cupcake pans), and unique dishes and grilling stuff, fun selection of gadgets. You will need start an additional registery elsewhere if you want certain registry 'basics' like bedding, bath towels, vaccuum, irons, etc. Depending on who you speak with, some were more helpful than others, but they do set you up with the standard registry folder and scanning gun.
One thing to be aware of with WS, C&B, and others, is that unless you specify otherwise, your registry is automatically linked to one of those master wedding sites....i think it's the knot, but i'm not sure. some ppl like it b/c it streamlines all your registries, but it wasn't for me.

Re: Williams-Sonoma Registry
It's a great place and has a LOT of stuff - but there are other places out there that have the same stuff, but a lot cheaper! Crate and Barrel for instance.

Re: Williams-Sonoma Registry
Crate and barrel is definitely less pricey than WS however, WS has a great selection of food items/kitchen items that aren't sold anywhere. Example: a cupcake mold shaped like ice cream cone, the electric cappucino maker, mini burger press etc. It's really great for specialty items.
I registered at crate and barrel and WS because I love cooking and entertaining and found both stores to be helpful for what I need and covet!!!

We did only for a few things b/c we had already registered at Fortunoff's and Pottery Barn. I love WS, they are amazing and I want everything they sell.
